Bump damage is absolutely deadly to anyone with medium - low armour, whilst tincans can shrug it off like it doesn't matter,
As said in the title, bump damage should be a % of your total HP rather than based on your armour ...
I'm not saying make it weaker against low armoured guys necessarily (although that would be nice) but make it stronger against heavily armoured guys
thanks, Corsair (moo).

How much would you think of? Actually getting bumped by a horse is deadly enough irl I could imagine. However as this is a game, it should be kinda low compared to a hit by arrows/bolts/swords/other stuff.
But how much? 5%? Sounds a bit low, considering getting bumped by a horse at full speed or a plated one. 10%? Not sure about that either.
I actually prefer it as now. If you got light armor, you should get more ath to jump out of the way or a long piercing weapon to stop the horse... I usually ignore bump dmg of horses though, whenever I'm around with 18 str+, some IF and medium armor, I never mind the low dmg a horse causes to me when being bumped (except it was a plated charger for example :P).
Edit: After all, the bump should cause someone to be stunned for some time by falling to the ground. It's rather meant as a help for the infantry, than as real damage to kill someone.

Destriers can onehit me on my 12/27 char with leather armor, on my 21/18 char with unloomed medium armor I don't notice the bump.

but how is lancer cav supposed to kill archers if not by bump? we cant poke them due to angle nerf, and if by chance we do, its nothing but a refreshing scratch to them : /

Dude, you ride a courser, the horse made purely for spawnraping and backstabbing, ofc everyone who notices can dodge you.

I still think horses should be less maneuverable, but have lots more hp and do more bump damage. Less prancing around and more charging.

No.
Just return strafing to the levels it should be so that aware agility players can dodge and unaware players get creamed (this applies to being able to dodge missiles and reducing ranged QQ as well). Heavy armor wearers should not lose the benefit of heavy armor.

i have 37 body armour and i can get 2-3 hit by a courser BUMPING me
just to be really clear about this, this is someone who's MISSED their sword / lance, being rewarded with a kill, even though they MISSED their sword/lance.
Should archers do damage to people they miss because of arrow turbulence??

So hard to hit incoming horse when rider missed his hit, isn't it? Also bump damage depends on leg armour if I remember properly.

If you hit an incoming horse whose rider misses then you still take heavy bump damage... in melee if both people miss their attacks neither guy gets damaged, cav should be buffed in some places but nerfed in some of the I fucked up but I still slightly won things like bump damage.
Pretty sure bump damage depends simply on which coalition mesh collides with the horse first, far from 100% though.

This is yet another case where carrying a polearm would solve cav-related deaths.
