They got over 400 ping on EU/NA servers though. Not that nice to play Strat. :)
I don't know, I guess it would be possible to host Strat for them (the website stuff?) if they host a chinese server themselves?

Guessing that's what he means. put up a china map for strat, they would have to host the server in China
Didn't realize there was that many people over there playing cRPG, pretty cool to see

If those number indeed represent the chinese community numbers, i'm surprise they haven't complained about it yet. I kind of wish it was possible for people on different continent to play with each other without such horrendous ping.
Hopefully, if they really desire to play strategus as well, chadz will be able to do something about it.

Having nosed about a bit, apparently they have complained about it, a lot. But the problem is that CN would, apparently, need an official server for this, then.

And since they don't have one I assume that donations are really bad coming from China? That's pretty bad if China player-base is so big and they don't even have an official server :|

I'm used to seeing them with 100-200 man parties...just passed one of them with 2k shiny troops. Be very afraid.

and people did complained a lot about no strat for CN, but they seemed to have problem with posting in this forum.

Not sure if that would be an adequate solution,
but having a third map included like mirrowed in the south of the EU or NA Map and then that map set up for an official assian server (russian, chinese, how about those in australia?) Again not sure whom to include there but those who are close together should have ok ping then and the time differrential also would be less of a problem?

if they have decent battles i will apply as mercenary and randomly swing with 400 ping .... things you are ready to do for xp.....

hi!guys!im pigsy , one of the CHN servers administrator.
Our server is build on donation from players.This Server have been started for years,and proves how we love crpg.
CHN players love Strat,some of them used to play on EU or NAs servers.But..you know..ping is always a horrible problem.
we have been looking forward to set up our own Strategus for a long time.

As one of the early beta tester and founder for both CN cRPG & Aus cRPG, certainly I wish that every region will have it's own Strat. Mainly because the game play experience for Warband is really depands on the Ping issues. On the other hand, if u do look deeper, its also kind linked with a culture and language matter since the Strat is not just about killing and lvling, its a more comprehensive game involving strategy and diplomatic. Ur personal skills in Strat will not be really notable, but instead its a game that require players combine their forces and conquer the world.
I do have talked about establishing a separate Strat with chadz and meow a long time age, but at that time, the server donation for CN is still kind on the edge so we really didn't discussed any furthur. I am very glad that Ptx has brought this out again and I also do understand the extra costs and burdens will lay on cRPG development team. I really hope that there were something that we (Chinses Players) could do about for the cRPG and its community, and hopefully this time there will be a new CN Strat server. :wink:

Sure we do need this new Strat. Over 1000 players have played this mod in China, but a great number have left because it's too boring to fight over and over again in one single server. I'm sure they will come back if we have a strategy for Chinese players. Again, we do need this!

I have no idea how far donations are going to mantain current server upkeep, and if an additional server could fit in there. For some of the CN players, how expensive is a server there? What city/area would be the most ideal location? Where is the current CN_cRPG server located?

They have a server ready for strat already. TO_Pigsy is the server manager and he already posted here. The most ideal location will be at Shanghai, consider most of the Chinese population are located at the eastern part at the coast of pacific ocean.

There are at max 15 Aus people, Ruskies will pretty much always have a better ping in Europe, I don't want them stealing our Ruskies, and are there even players from India and/or Japan.

No, if they are to have a strat server, it can only be an official one. Official server = owned/paid for/maintained by donkey crew. That is the main problem, afaik.

If you wrote out the "paid for" requirement, I think they could just hand out the server access to donkey team and they change all the passwords/legal property to them and they can then set it for strategus.
P.S.: I know it will never happen but still!

Australia may be 150+ ping,they rarely come to play CHN server
Russia 100-120-ping
japan 60+ping
Korea 45-50ping
India?....I dont know.havent seen them before on server
