Title: Anyone else having this issue?
Post by: Tanken on February 12, 2013, 10:29:53 pm
Occasionally, when I hit the Home Tab on the forum here, the page fails to load. I have to remove the /index part of the URL for it to load correctly.

Anyone else having this issue? I'm using Google Chrome, it wasn't having this problem 3-4 days ago, but since about Saturday it has been doing it frequently.

Having same problems. Also using Chrome. I added a small poll to your thread. Hope you don't mind :D.

Thanks for the poll, haha, was actually about to mention that someone had done that and it is a good idea. Make sure to vote the poll guys. It may be an issue with Chrome from what I gather thus far.

You should be able to change your vote... Oh I'll add Opera there just in case someone still uses it :D.

Thought it was just me, I've always had problems with this website. I can't even sign in through the main page, I have to sign in from c-rpg.net. Anyways, I use internet explorer and I have this problem...

I can't even sign in through the main page, I have to sign in from c-rpg.net.
For this if you are logged in crpg site you can simply use this shortcut favorite link : http://c-rpg.net/?page=forumlogin
to force to use the crpg cookie.

Logout into the forum then go to this link, if you are logged in c-rpg.net ofc.

Yeah, my problem is not Accessing the website, it's while I'm on the website and I hit the Home tab, about 75% of the time it will fail and just stay blank. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

I wait harald's or chadz's word about this, but it doesn't look like an actual problem like something that doesn't work as intented.

A problem is an obstacle, impediment, difficulty or challenge, or any situation that invites resolution; the resolution of which is recognized as a solution or contribution toward a known purpose or goal. A problem implies a desired outcome coupled with an apparent deficiency, doubt or inconsistency that prevents the outcome from taking place.

What may be a problem for you is probably a solution for someone else.

You can access the forum via direct URLs when experiencing the white page issue.

Such as:
http://forum.meleegaming.com/index.php/
http://forum.meleegaming.com/general-discussion/
http://forum.meleegaming.com/faction-halls/
http://forum.meleegaming.com/diplomacy/
http://forum.meleegaming.com/general-off-topic/

I wouldn't know about this issue since I do everything in tabs.  I always leave the main page open in a tab, so I literally never hit the "Home" button.

I'm quite the forum warrior, if you guys could use any tips of the trade, shoot me a PM.

the link forum.meleegaming.com/index.php  is the one that causes everyone problems at the moment (at least it does for me, and yes, I used the word Problem kafein.)

While I appreciate the effort - for people who do not get here because of blank pages this does not help at all. They have to fix the main page, unless it's their intention to drive people away.

3 pages and about 100 votes later a wild Sherlock appears :D.

Seems like there is no significant difference between browsers when it comes to white page issue. Now we also know there is quite a decent amount of people having these difficulties. Now we wait and see if something can be done about it.

Going to go ahead and bump this before it fades away to second page, seeing as there isn't a hotfix for it yet. Hopefully we can get it fixed soon given the poll results.

I've been noticing that most tabs, when you press them they'll have an / at the end, however, forum.meeleegaming.com/index.php does not have a / at the end, but when I add an / (as someone else suggested) it works. Perhaps we can get the webcode to add a / to the end of the directory when clicking the home tab???

I'm not sure, either just dumb luck on avoiding the forum bug and I really didn't solve anything, or something that had to do with my complete cleansing of my computer. Every year (Like a few days ago) I take everything off but my essentials, re-install critical systems, re-install "fun" programs and pictures, update everything, then do a complete cleansing of my computer's "free space" by overwriting my "free space" with 0s two dozen times.

Makes everything run butter-smooth as well as get rid of unwanted problems that I never noticed.

Again, might just be coincidence and I'm just avoiding the website problem with dumb luck.
