Title: Does Clan inclusion spread to alternate characters?

My friend just applied for our clan, and I added him. He tried applying with an alternate character, and it wouldn't let him. I thought that maybe this meant he was already in the clan on all characters, but in the clan members list, it only shows the character he joined with, which is not his "main" character. Sort of confused as to what's going on.

Make him rank 3 and let his other characters join as supporters.

if you have a rank 3 character in a clan, you can join that clan as supporter:
