FREE LANDS OF THE TUNDRA

The Free Lands of the Tundra is a community of like-minded clans seeking to create an area of Calradia wherein small clans and individuals whom join the Free Lands community can trade freely and grow in an area not dominated by the shadow of large clans and conglomerates.

The Free Lands members will coordinate to collectively defend the area from aggressive attack and/or expansion into the area and endeavor to sustain the safety of this free trade area in the Tundra for its member clans and traders.

Land owners of the Tundra
Add your holding to the Free Lands mission and help us build and protect this beacon of light within a dark world!

Small clans and individuals without holdings
Join the Free Lands community and enjoy the free trade while adding your forces to the defense of this pristine land!

Quote
WHO IS IN FREE LANDS :

- FREE LANDS MEMBERS: Clans with holdings within the Tundra area are elligible to join the Free Lands group as Free Land Members and vote on the decisions of that community.  Clans may have holdings outside the Tundra, but only holdings within the Tundra will be part of the group's protection.

- FREE LANDS TRADERS : Small clans (20 or less in Strat faction) without holdings and individuals without holdings can join the Free Lands group as Free Land Traders and trade freely between the holdings of all Free Lands Members in the Tundra.  Free Lands Traders are asked to aid in defense of the Free Lands and donate fractions of their profits from trading within the area to the Free Lands holdings.

Free Lands Traders that are active within the Free Lands community for some time, help with resources for defense, and help to defend the Free Lands mission can become voting Free Lands Members even without having holdings in the Tundra.

Quote
DEFENSE OF THE COMMUNITY :

The Free Lands Members will assess apparent threats to holdings, free trade, and peace of the Tundra area and collaborate in a defensive nature to preserve the safety of the Tundra.

- The Free Lands mission is purely devoted to the creation, maintenance, and defense of a secure community WITHIN THE TUNDRA.  The group has NO EXTERNAL GOALS.  Free Lands members are not pledged to assist other members or holdings offensively or defensively outside of the Tundra

- All Free Lands holdings, members, and traders WITHIN THE TUNDRA AREA will be defended in the case of unprovoked (aggressive/expansionary) attacks.  If the Free Lands Member or Trader has started the conflict or has broken an exterior trade policy, the group will vote on whether to become involved defensively or not.

Quote
TRADE IN THE FREE LANDS :

- Each Free Lands holding will be OPEN TRADE to all other Free Lands Members and Free Lands Traders.  However, trade policies to the general community are up to the individual clans and are listed in the Strat 4 Border Policies Thread (http://forum.meleegaming.com/diplomacy/strat-4-na-border-policy-list/msg633571/#msg633571)

- Free Lands Traders are asked to donate portions of their profits from their trading within Free Lands holdings to those holdings to help the Free Lands Member clans sustain their defenses in the area.  Free Lands Traders are also asked to assist the Free Lands Members in defense of the area if the group decides to initiate a group defense.

- It is asked that Free Lands Members and Traders respect the S&D of the holdings by adhereing to the following if they do not own the holding:
     - Do not take more than 400-500 S&D in any one visit
     - Do not take more than 50% of the S&D that is there
     - Do not leave a holding with less than 100-200 S&D
(If a member or trader wishes to take more than what is listed here, they must get permission from the owner)

The Free Peasants support the new Free Lands of the Tundra agreement. May we all flourish and build many a snow man together.

I wish that NA had a bigger map, really. I was hoping that you guys would come up with something more aggressive, but I do dig the idea of having somewhat of a "starter" kind of area.

I mean hell, we started at ismirala and it went swimmingly. Now Roma can do the same, and I think that's pretty neat.

I was hoping that you guys would come up with something more aggressive...

We may not be aggressive...but that does not mean there will always be peace....

...but I do dig the idea of having somewhat of a "starter" kind of area.

This could actually add more interesting things to the map in the end, since it allows younger, smaller clans to get a foothold.

Nice to see another "alliance" in Strategus based on not declaring wars and AFK trading.

Farmville ahoy.

How else to prepare to invade EU without proper Farmville cabbage?

I'm pretty sure Occitan has no interest currently in the going ons of the tundra. Are the Free Lands of the Tundra mongering war?

That depends. Do you consider snowball fights acts of aggression?

love it

when the time is right, may i borrow some passages as i couldn't have done it any better?

CFA was founded as an aggressive alliance to go against UIF, but the final goal always was and still is to have an area for smaller and new factions or in other words "I want more colors on the map", to give them land so they can learn the mechanics and include them then more and more in different ways of strategus.

well done and i hope all of NA will support this, perhaps even contributes to it.
We need this, to get new blood into strat/crpg and keep the game rolling!

Welcome to the Free Lands as a Trading group!

Just a reminder on the system....

Quote
- Free Lands Traders are asked to donate portions of their profits from their trading within Free Lands holdings to those holdings to help the Free Lands Member clans sustain their defenses in the area.  Free Lands Traders are also asked to assist the Free Lands Members in defense of the area if the group decides to initiate a group defense.

- It is asked that Free Lands Members and Traders respect the S&D of the holdings by adhereing to the following if they do not own the holding:

I just wanted to let you know Ismirala castle, curaw, and reyvadin are all open to trade - as the 3 snow fiefs of FCC could FCC join this new consortium of free trade?

P.S. Knudarr castle and Tilbaut castle are our other 2 open trade fiefs
Title: Re: Free Lands of the Tundra
Post by: Artyem on February 14, 2013, 02:54:51 am
For that to be in order, I believe you'd have to get trade rights from each individual faction unless you plan on entering FLoTT as a member faction.

I didn't write it, but to me that sounds fair enough.

Just wanting to clarify since it seems some people go confused over this relatively simple concept.  We are not part of the defensive alliance and are not trying to join the defensive alliance.  However, we support the FREE trade network that helps FREE traders make a good living and buildup even without fiefs of their own (we are the FREE companies of calradia after all).  In the spirit of this we have been opening many of our fiefs to free traders and have now expanded that list to include:

Curaw (sell fief)
Reyvadin (Buy fief)
Knudarr Castle (Sell fief)
Tilbaut Castle (sell fief)
Ismirala Castle (sell fief)

Most of these fiefs are in or near the tundra and should be considered free trading fiefs for all free traders both in the new Northern Tundra group and without.  Also multiple fiefs are at 1000 prosperity or 600 prosperity or higher and replenshishes stock quickly enough that anyone can buy or sell as many goods as they want in any of these fiefs (no limit on goods purchases/sales as in Tundra Agreement zone).

We fully support and hope to see a lot of new small clans flourishing with 0 or 1 fiefs doing trader uns that allow them to build up well equipped armies to better take advantage of the fun of strategus - namely the battles.

I'd like to remind peoples that New Ayyike is also a free trade selling fief close to the tundra region if anybody is interested to trade there, they are most welcome.

Kesh is offering his holdings as free trade centers, which augments the efforts of the FREE LANDS OF THE TUNDRA.  Which I appreciate, thank you Kesh.

But he is not (as far as I can tell) asking to JOIN the FREE LANDS group and therefore FCC would not be in the defensive pact (although it is their prerogative whether to get involved in any conflicts anywhere on the map - just like its Hospitaller's prerogative to do the same)

Just a reminder - only holdings belonging to FREE LANDS MEMBERS (list on first post) are open to trade to all Free Lands Members and Traders.

Any other holding has its own border policy that must be observed.
Also, for those NOT in Free Lands - Free Lands holdings are open to its members, but not necessarily to people outside Free Lands.

---

For instance, Bhulaban is owned by LL and is NOT open trade.

Very well froyo, but keep in mind; After evading the holy guard, I spotted knute unarmed with 500 crates entering the fief I was hiding in. Had I not thought of the free peasants as upstanding gentleman then, perhaps I would be this thieving scoundrel you portray me as. You have made no trade runs, what you have done is abuse our kindness and our love of all men to your own ends. If you did respect us then this would have never happened, and you would still be welcome to trade in our lands and rest at our hearths. Had you only approached us as a man of your word this could all have been avoided, but this was not so.

You broke our bro code Jesus. You broke my heart.

That was a good chase Jesus, you're a worth foe but also a dirty neckbeard.

I wasn't unarmed or without others waiting to reinforce when moving up to our slum but if we would have know your night time settings covered NA primetime we wouldn't have waited a day.  It'd be nice if you could adjust them so we could do a battle before 10pm PST so east coast people could get in on it.

Anyway, our border villages are neutral so we don't care who stops through as long as they don't attack anyone in our territory or take S&D without permission, and you did both.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

EDIT: After 6pm PST and before 9pm PST would be ideal, nobody wants to do a battle late at night or during the work/school day.

When you say BlackFist accepted... Is that the big 'BlackFist' faction in Eu, or the tiny 2-man 'Ancient BlackFists' that i'm in? :P

Yours :)

Hmm, think they kinda disbanded didnt they?  Forget.
Can GoW let me know what their situation is?  I will re-add if you want.

Please don't touch Nova Slezkh's S&D for a few days people.   Well, until further notice.

Every time I pass through the DIplomacy section and see "New" next to this thread's title, I'm like "Oh yeah! FLT is Making a Move!" then I'm disappointed because it's just peaceful  :(

Oh also, anyone in the Tundra wanna give up a fief to KUTT so our Acronym makes sense again (Tundra Territories is uh, kind of narrow)

Other options include Tanken's Testicles, Testicular Tuberculosis, Titty Twisters, and Torn Tunics. But I don't know.

LOCKED since I will not be updated this since HG is retiring from Strategus.

I have sent the code for the first post to the Free Lands members and they can start a new one that they can upkeep!
