Title: IF vs armour
Post by: owens on February 06, 2013, 01:30:39 pm
I would like to see a curve of effective hp(y) vs armour(x). For different levels of IF.

I believe that heavy armour is too effective with IF and that medium armour too ineffective without it.

So I always use the same armour set

-Rus Helmet

-Druzhina mail shirt +3

-Mail Gauntlats

-Rus cavalry Boots

I make a lot of money in NA but only a small amount in AU

Light gloves should give a melee damage bonus. There's no reason not to use heavy gauntlets on a melee char right now.

SGA seems to be the better weight/body armor ratio in my mind too. Personnaly i don t use any IF point and use SGA with Plate mittens and the protection is decent.

You're not a tank but you can survive with 2 or 3 heavy hits except some Berserk build (lot of STR) with blunt damage.

They reduce wpf a lot and are expensive as hell, for example scale gauntlets with only 4 less body armour are way better with their 3 times smaller upkeep and less weight.

This gen I went 0 ironflesh and I've been told I take a lot of hits. I wear Lordly Byrnie, Vaegir warhelm, Lordly hourglass, and splinted leather greaves over mail.

Usually I am able to take 3 hits.

after i got oneshotted by a 8 PS player with 2h axe i gave up trying to figure out if IF is useful or not.
i have 7 IF , 70 hp total , 48h 62b 25l armor and a damn axe oneshotted me (obviously in the head).

The OP should have stated correlation between HP and Armor (not IF).  What's your HP at?

lol @ wpf and gold mattering in the slightest.

Unlike the Kuyak, SGA actually looks good, although I prefer to pair it with the sallet with visor and coif, plate mittens, and rus cav boots (probably should be better boots, but they look good and are the only +3 boots I own)
