Title: Holy Guard (HG) change of Diplomacy
Post by: Elindor on February 05, 2013, 09:27:15 pm
The Order of the Holy Guard (HG) will now be their own faction in Strat, not under the Remnant Faction.

*** THIS IS A PEACEFUL TRANSITION I HAVE DISCUSSED WITH TOM CRUISE ***

---

Remnant and HG will be allies as always.

HG will continue to hold Yruma and Karindi and Remnant will hold Tismirr.

---

HG + Remnant <3

Really good change, imo. HG being part of remnant was pretty cool when remnant was still a potential ass-kicker, but I think that the nerdery of strat got to be too much for a lot of them.

Strat is a LOT of nerdery.

I think it's healthy for clans new to strat to start out closely allied with more experienced ones like HG did. There is a lot of shit to figure out in terms of setting up logistics chains, trading, various obscure and poorly documented mechanics, diplomacy can be an issue for some clans, hell even basic communication between officers and members can be an issue that needs to be sorted out.

Much less frustrating to work closely with a more experienced group and integrate into their already existing operations and figure it out that way then learn it all from scratch on your own. Shares the admin workload too so it's less frustration heaped onto certain key people.

I agree Turbo.

For us it was not officer/member communications within our group because we've been a gaming group for like a decade (wow, long time) or diplomacy but really just "how involved do my guys wanna be?" .  I didnt want to bite off a bunch of work for myself if my guys just wanted to "see what Strat was about".  As you know, the LEADER of the Strat faction is the one that does 90% of the work.

Also, like you said, there's TONS of weird and obscure mechanics in Strat...

Thanks for the support all.

----

The mission of the Holy Guard in Strat is to help protect the Tundra area with its allies in TAMDA and to help make that a place for small clans to grow and prosper - since in most of Calradia that can be rather difficult for small clans.
