So, as I got less and less time to actually play c-rpg I thought i'd start doing some minor strat business.
Ofcourse the Brigade always played strat but I never enjoyed being a "troop vending machine" so now I am going to try it solo!
Things I would like to be doing:
Banditting, this is what i want to be doing, build up an army and gather some mediocre gear and just charge the enemy. 8-)
A few questions:
- what are the "rules"
- Where do I start gaining money?
- how does dying work, do I lose everything?
- how do I pick/set my timezones since i cant at night/morningtimes.
- what armour should I equip my troops with
- what weapons?
I just want to "rp" a bandit and be notorious. 8-)
If this needs to go to beg & help sections please move it.
-
"Banditry" would imply that you don't care about the rules
It also answers your 2nd question.
3. - yes.
4. - under one of the pages in strat.
5. and 6. - come on, now, make up your own mind!

Hmm, so I should wait in a town begging for starter money? :)

I don't know anything about strat, but I wish you well on your mission of madness. Maybe I'll follow in your footsteps later and we can go all Blackbeard and Hornigold.
-
Only real way to make money is to buy goods and then sell them. If all you have is 100 gold to start, then buy 15 goods at 5 price (want to keep some money for upkeep) and then march 20-30k meters and sell them for a profit. I doubt you're going to be much of a target with 0 crates or 10 crates on the map and unarmed. Just keep repeating this until you get maybe 10-20k and start equipping your troops.
I'd suggest you buy the 0 gold equipment for your 100 troops so you can semi-defend yourself if needed.
-
I currently have about 14 gold, but im marching atm, i'll keep the stuff you guys advised in mind, first im going to collect some Moneyzz when I get to a fief. :)

Send a message forth when the time has come that you will take up the arms and are willing to plunder for gold and woman, then we shalt shed blood and tears together like brothers!
-
To get initial gold you need to be at your troop limit (i'd suggest 100 if you're trying to make money) and then you will make about 10 gold every hour if you have strategus ticks (only get them playing in CRPG public servers)

do a sneaky deal :) approach one of the clans/alliances and say you wish to bandit in the enemies territory and request funding :)
or maybe you know a clan who is "friendly" to another clan but doesnt wish them to get too rich :P and same deal ^^
your a bandit!

Hell yeah! Back in the day they called those "privateers". Pirates that "worked for" one side, promising to only bother the other team, for a stipend.

Ask your faction nicely for some basic gear and a few thousand goods and you'll be set for some good banditting. Otherwise, do small scale trading in a reasonably safe free trade area. Use the money you gain to buy some basic gear, carry some more goods at once and repeat until you have good enough equipment.

Problem is getting money together, and hence gear, if not in a faction, only trade route I found I could do without getting constantly mugged and where you could buy/sell a bit was Dhirim/Shariz.
-
Just steal S&D a ton for a few weeks, then convert all your money into equipment and start caravan raiding.
What you need is money for gear and horses(to catch the caravans), and troops.
-
If you die you keep your gold. I've not been a bandit but a rebel, where I done some high risk operations, so I have a little bit of experience in this field.
it was easier before in early strat to be a rebel but not anymore since it's a normal thing to see 2k troops in many fiefs and reinforcements ready to reinforce anyone :)
I wish you best of luck. Maybe if all the big clans and coalitions are dissolved we can see a golden era for bandits and smaller clans :)

I left the brigade and besides the whole point of me doing strat now is doing it on my own, without a big bloc to support me with a thousand troops and a million gold.

Living up to my name! 8-)

what does S&D stand for, i guess not Search and Destroy lol! So does that mean that horses increase your movement speed?

well, i dont mind dying aslong as I can have some fun, ill probably will charge into battle head over heels while being outnumbered and outarmed. 8-) im a hero like that afterall
And yeah i cant wait for that era to come, where small tribes rule the land, should be amazingly awesome.

hush Vovka! I shall charge your tincan armies with peasants and annihilate you!

1. S&D= supply and demand = 1s&d = 1 possible good buy/sell in a fief (when u click on fief in the map u'll see how much s&d they have wich is equal to how much u can buy and sell in goods)
2. Yes horses give you a speed bonus of +80% if u have rounceys and above (sumpters only give +30%), u must have more horses than troops and if u have more goods than troops u must compensate that with horses too.
So if u have 100 troops and 200 goods u'll need minimum 200 horses in total to have the bonus speed.
