It's become force of habit these days to be honest. I've had that equipment for years now (quite literally) and it is "who I am". When I originally picked out the gauntlets the weight difference wasn't as high as it is now and they gave the best look for the highest armour for the lowest weight. Now, if I wanted more armour for the same weight change I could happily choose a different body armour & gloves and have better results.

Erm, if I have done this correctly then (Please note I am using "fully loomed" stats);

Mail Gauntlets: 0.5 weight (2 due to the x4) - 9 body armour
Leather Jerkin: 3.8 weight - 27 body armour, 10 leg armour

Total weight: 4.3 weight (5.8 weight) - 36 body armour, 10 leg armour.

So if I wore leather gloves instead (0 weight) 5 body armour I'd be 2 weight better off but 4 body armour down.

That means that I could use the Padded Jack/Tribal Warrior Outfit at 5.5 weight with 31 body armour and 14 leg armour giving;

Leather Gloves: 0 weight - 5 body armour
Padded Jack/Tribal Warrior Outfit: 5.5 weight - 31 body armour, 14 leg armour

36 body armour and 14 leg armour.

So really, it is more efficient to use lighter gloves and heavier armour (by 0.3 weight & 4 leg armour), it's a matter of style! I should also mention that both of these equipment sets are below the threshold for losing archery wpf so it doesn't matter from that point of view.

The problem with the Byrnja is that you can clearly see it's textures through 90% of the gauntlets and that all boots on the left leg are in the wrong position which looks stupid in my opinion. Other people might not care at all about it but I really hate that.  :mrgreen:

Why do people insist on wearing weaboo gloves and boots with otherwise good outfits?  It looks fine with weaboo armor, but why with european gear?

Also, why is every samurai Tom Cruise in the Last Samurai?  They usually have extremely European faces with big beards, but they go full out samurai with their armor and weapons.

its just sometimes that fallen suddenly all starts wearing the keech gear, when i see it i often hop in as i bought me a set myself :)

And my attire is rather basic. but i love my helmet and boots. my rus scale armor is a tad overused at the moment, but i intend on keeping it till it falls out of fashion. but for now, i dont look very unique

I use both the red hose, shynbaulds and cased greaves to that set, when I use long leather boots it's due to it being high fashion in the mid-15th century (which the armor setup is based on). Such as at the Battle of Tewkesbury and Wakefield:

I will say, this mod is lacking when it comes to boots. Even as a naked warrior, I could be convinced to get some footwear, if there were some sufficiently burly looking boots.

Yeah, I change between the two, sometimes I just like to have plate on the backside, and though the iron greaves are an old and pretty bad Native texture (inferior to Narf's work by far) I like their slim look (probably too slim to be realistic which irks me though) and black straps.

Love all these armor combos, especially since they fit the style/theme of the clan i'm in.

As far as weapons to go with these armor combos, i'd say any Nordic looking weapon looks great. Same goes with the Heavy Round Shield.
