Title: Amount of goods and crates
Post by: Gimest on January 31, 2013, 06:11:37 pm
Well, i had 287 troops and bought 290 goods, i understand they will go off the mark alot at the point cuz i had more goods then troops, but now that i allready have 297 troops and still those 290 goods the game tells me i have 232 crates, and i just calculated that i should really have only around 77 (if its still those 6 items per crate, i have some other stuff over those goods).

Now the crates always shows. But your speed still go up if you have 1 troop = 1 good, and even more with 1 horse = 1 good > troops

Not sure what caused it, mayby changing direction, but now it shows the real amount and speed is back to normal, forgot to mention earlier i had slower speed because of that.

yeh u need at least the rounceys (all other horses above have same map speed), sumpters are slower on the map and unusable on the battlefield.
Always have more/equal horses than troops, if u have more goods than troops, then u need to align the horses with that instead.

Yo!

One question about it Bjarky ,

When you talked about the difference beetween troops and goods and the difference with Horses i need to be sure .. So

1000 Goods 500 troops. I need 500 horses to be sure to not lose speed? Or i need 1000 horses. Second point  you said that more horses we have more we run fast on the map alright?

Thanks in advance

number of crates and troops speed recalculate only after 1st min of moving.

I waited 5 hours after i had the amount of troops i need to fully carry the goods, but when i changed my direction it calculated it again and showed the real number, so if anyone has the same problem changing direction seems to get ur crates right.

2. You said that more horses we have more we run fast on the map alright?
u will need 1000 horses to get faster.
yes when u have more/equal horses than troops and goods, u get a capped speed bonus of 80% on top of what it would be without horses.

I waited 5 hours after i had the amount of troops i need to fully carry the goods, but when i changed my direction it calculated it again and showed the real number, so if anyone has the same problem changing direction seems to get ur crates right.
yes, when u buy stuff, the crates dont update properly, so doing an action on the map (or transfer/sell) will update the crates/armed status to what it should be.

1000 goods = 1000 horses for max speed

then if you have 2000 troops transporting 1000 goods you will need 2000 horses

Its very simple in teh end  :D

What is strange is why chadz never updated the rules he made in the beginning ? It was supposed to be quite different at first, but now its really simple

Those 1000 goods can't just be 1 type tho. It would have to be 500 of one, and 500 of another.

You also get a significant speed bonus at troops + crates. So with just 667 horses you would get a speed increase also.

500 troops + (1000/6 crates) = 667

It was modified; I have 30m/min (max speed without quickmarch) with one kind of good (lets say 1000 pizzas) and equal number of horses.

oh ok that's interesting...

I guess if you added 500 of another type you would need 1500 horses?

Yeah its simple addition now really, no strange complicated rules.

The only thing that can fuck your speed is the amount of troops and equipment :if its really high it will lower your speed drastically, then if you move through forests/hills/mountains the slowing is multiplied by a lot and can lead to speed below 5 m/min even if you have enough horses.

So the only thing you have to be afraid of with caravans, is having too much troops/gear on it while going through difficult terrain.

The best caravans are around 500/1000 men with enough weapons for all and going through plains exclusively (except for really good shortcuts).
