I see that a Rank Field has been added to our character page. Is there someplace we can see a list of everyone's rank, or maybe just the top 100 players or something? I think adding a ranking system is a great idea, and would love to see it more involved and traceable in the future.

What's on the website looks like Level/Exp rank to me

it's either that or it goes off of total kills. I have a 2:0 K:D, I can't imagine there are 3000 characters with better ratios than me...

I'm currently Rank #524 with around a 1:1 KD. Not sure what this is based off of.

level/exp as before the big patch in january I guess

Its lvl/xp i have a 1.1/1 kd and im 700 ranked.

Ranks based by K/D ratio only could be abused as well. You could get insane k/d when you start playing battle with a leveled char and after getting those you can only play siege.
My last generation longswordsman had a k/d of ~ 12:0 after the first couple of rounds on the battle server. Of course, it settled down to ~3.1 (which is not that high, I assume) after about two weeks of play.
AFAIK, my current generation lvl 18 longswordsman has 20 kills and 2 deaths (just played a couple of rounds on the battle server this Wednesday), so the KDR is 10.
What I want to say using these examples is that a system based on both k/d and the total number of kills is needed if you really want to see which player has the biggest e-peen. Still, the actual value of this "ranking" would be close to nothing (I saw the best US melee player messing around with a wooden sword/wearing no armor/doing other similar things, i.e. simply having fun on the battle servers numerous times).

lol, you dont divide by 0 with a 12:0 KD.
You have to assume .4999999999999 Deaths as a baseline.
So a 12:0 KD is a KD of 24
If the KD system is written properly it wont be dividing by zero but at the same time it will reward zero deaths.
