Started playing this game in March 2012. Played everyday for 2 months... loving this game/mod... and daily active on the forums. But in May, I got a new job (big-boy job) and moved an hour away from home, to New Orleans. After months of settling-in in NO... and now with a new, badass computer... I finally logged back on tonight. Man is this game still great! Of course I was rusty. But could still put together a decent string of blocks, at times.
So I have two questions, that may you regular old-timers can help me with?
1) Have there been any major changes to gameplay? Seems like spawn might be a little longer on Siege battles... but my memory may be failing me.
2) Have any "need to buy" items been add to the Shop? Seems there's a few new helms, a couple of spears/polearms, and the addition of "Eastern" armor.
-
1)crushtrough is nerfed for all mauls (except great maul) lol
doublehitting: if two guys hit at almost the same moment, both of them get hit by eachother fixed
2) maybe try the corseque or something or if you like the armors, try them. but they arent that special imo
the polearms are basically different looks for the long awlpike (they are almost not different)
OH WAIT: rondell dagger: extremely good sidearm, has both swing and thrust 31 and 30 pierce damage. nice as sidearm or as main weapon for agibuilds (pure agi or shielder agiwhore). cant block

Eight months? There have been two major changes to gameplay that I can think of:
1) Polestun was removed.
2) Turn rate for thrusts and overheads was greatly reduced for all weapons (although this is currently being tweaked).
There was an experiment that allowed 'hit-trading', where a player's attack would continue on for a split second after he took a hit. This wasn't well received by the community, and is scheduled to be removed.
As for minor changes, the stats on several 2h weapons were tweaked. Several new two-directional polearms were added, but they weren't really worth taking over the long awlpike in most situations.

No, that change has been removed already, it doesn't happen anymore. :)

excuse me for my stupidness, if that is true :) i havent played that much either and indeed, i didnt see it anymore

Thanks for the info guys! None of the Eastern Armor appeals to me. But I might have to try a few of those new polearms. I do enjoy the Long Awpike. And if any of the new spears have 4 attack directions (instead of the Long Awpike's 2 directions), they might replace the Long Awpike.

nope they dont :)
basically the difference is in the overhead attacks: one has blunt, the other has pierce, and anohter one has cut etc...
-
All ranged are way slower now, because of missiles weigth, good change for all infantry or cav.

Ah, got ya. Well, I don't see much reason to spend the extra money. Thanks for that bit of info!

Thanks for this info, didn't realize that.

I've been away for almost 24 hours now, what has been changed in the meantime?

Excuse me, statwise I find all the new ones except Partisan, I.E. Corseque, Ranseur and Spetum better than the long awlpike. :P

i think the difference in length makes these difference all pure preference. If you are more comfortable with the new polearms' length, they might be better yes. Im staying with my beauty anyway

No much... just added jet-packs!!!

Welcome back person I do not know! Always good to see another person hop back in. Maybe I'll see you on the field
Also; play battle, it's for the winners.

Thanks!
Yeah, back in the day, I played a lot more Battle. However, since coming back, I've probably played more Siege... just because I need the constant action to sharpen my skills.
See you on the battlefield!

Definitely a good bet, siege is the place to get more action in and thus improve your skills. You can always do that for a bit then once you're back in the flow of things go to battle, or stick with siege if you have more fun there, whichever!

Yeah, and I forgot how gay HX's are (HC, xbow cav)!!! With those guys making Battles drag on endlessly... and needlessly... I might stick with Siege for a while.
Of course, like we all do... at "x5" I love me some HCs!
