Anyone who applies for Fimbulvetr in the upcoming defenses of New Rindyar castle will recieve their choice of strategus or cRPG gold according to subjective performance review. My word is that we'll pay handsomely, not grudgingly.
We're under assault by forces larger than our own with potent and quantitious resources and men. Lend us your services, and you'll be rewarded.
The battles will be posted below, and this thread will be bumped each time a battle has been posted.

7:56 PM EST Les Chevaliers Occitans with 2052 VS Fimbulvetr with 3948; Raid
http://c-rpg.net/index.php?page=battlesparticipated#!?page=battledetail&id=2091
Les Chevaliers Occitans have lost 1697 troops while Fimbulvetr has lost 871. Notable events include shit-talking from both sides (all in good fun!), and BlackWhite from the Norse Horde killing four(?) catapults. Yeah, I don't know what the fuck happened and then everyone in TS fucking yelled about it and I was like lol what.
Mercenaries will be paid if requested- although I think most of you fought for the EXX PEE and the sheer fun of the fight.
Look forward to the next fight; it sucks that you have to come the fuck at our castle, but if you want to put a stop to that, I won't be TOO upset. :)
EDIT: IF ANYONE WILL SIT IN SPECTATOR FOR THE WHOLE FIGHT, RECORD IT WELL, EDIT OR DONT, UPLOAD IT TO YOUTUBE AND I WILL GIVE YOU LOOMS OR SOMETHING.
I want to display to my friends irl about how much of a nerd I am...it's hard to simply explain it, not to mention boring.

I will be on your wall if you will have me. free of charge regardless of how many I send to the grave.
-
You have my bow!
-
Is Fumbul w/e Firisa and NH? cause you guys got the same color and shit?
-
Fimbulvetr is a close military and commercial alliance between Frisia, Norse Horde, and Dracul/Dragoni of Valahia. We prefer to "do diplomacy" through dealings in TS and the like; didn't see a reason to post on the forums. Sorry for the confusion.

I just saw it like a few days ago(on the alliance/wars sheet) and was like....DAFUQ?
Well Atl east I know now. Turbo told me to go look it up and that was the only other answer I got (which btw is the time just before ragnarok in norse mythology).

As best I can describe, Fimbulvetr (Fimbulwinter when anglicized) is the three year long winter that's absolutely shittier than all hell, and all the inhabitants of the world begin raping, killing, incest...ing, etc. Once it's done with, RAGNORAK HAPPENS!

I was happy to fight for you but I refuse to help clean up the bodies and blood. however I will gladly take all those broken ladders and build myself a summer home

Thread is bumped, check it

Thank you for that archer paradise - looking forward to the next one.
-
Check the thread again, I will pay looms or whatever to someone that can record these upcoming battles from spec, or even just player cam.

Well that was one hell of a brutal siege

Well that was one hell of a brutal siege
Yes, yes it was.
My only highlight was shimmying up a couple ladders to get to the roof of the gatehouse and getting at a couple archers.
Otherwise it was like getting kicked in the balls repeatedly.

I thought it was great? coming back for round 2? Sure is nice being on defense
-
kinda boring on D too, sitting around guarding walls against hopeless attacks. I spent 75% of battle playign the mini-game of collecting weps off ground and putting them into weapon racks.
-
It wouldn't have been so bad if the one wall we could have scaled, without terrible terrain below, didn't have a ladder high above going from one tower to another.
Never seen it before, but it effectively made it impossible to put ladders up to the wall with the ladder hanging high above. Even if our ladders were 10-20 feet below the ladder above, they'd get stuck. Would be nice if that was fixed, but I won't even bother suggesting it in the right place, as it would be a waste of 30 seconds.

I spec-ed it for a while last night and though it was absolutely brutal, it was quite like a real medieval siege. I mean there's a reason that armies would SIEGE a castle instead of assaulting it. Castle walls can give a force multiplier in factors of ten if implemented correctly (such as they were last night). Albeit, that castle was more difficult than most, it did EXACTLY what a castle is supposed to do, be nigh-impregnable.
Now if you want to avoid the castle walls the attackers could use Medieval siege tactics and ignore the castle, cut it off from reinforcement and force the defenders to sally out when they begin to run out of gold. In addition, the attackers could take easier to capture fiefs and force field battles that way.
My overall point is that defense is SUPPOSED TO BE EASIER. In order to attack, the aggressor needs to MASSIVELY outweigh their opponent if they wish to directly take a castle. Otherwise they have to do what the medieval armies did and drain the blood from the enemy by taking their villages and forcing a battle on open ground.

8am fight, sorry guys, can't do much about night-time settings when we need to attack someone at midnight or later or they'll get away/get reinforced.

Well-performing mercs will be paid strat or cRPG gold for attending. Last time like 3 people requested gold. Request how much gold you think you'll deserve (fuck sake dont be stupid about it) and that'll let me know you want some.
