I am confused about what Strategus is?
-
Waste of time.
-
Ok thanks how do I delete this topic this was probably a stupid question sorry to waste ur time

Strategus is like an online version of single player M&B. Factions/clans have organised battles/sieges to take over parts of a map
You should go on http://strategus.c-rpg.net/ just to make sure your character exists there. Thats where you can craft stuff and whatever else people do there (I don't really know)
For most players you just play as a mercenary who fights for either side in a big battle. You get lots of XP compared to regular servers
Click on Battles on c-rpg.net and you can see the upcoming fights. Join one that has lots of activity (check the Roster) and don't ask for gold, then you turn up on TS shortly before the fight starts and they check you're there to accept you
I only did it once so maybe someone with more experience can give better info. Its worth it to see how organised cRPG can play out, with more teamwork and maybe some drama, and you can get a lot of XP

Thanks for explaining is it worth it though it says I have to make my current character my main character?

Leshma was too cool to answer your question and decided to be a dick instead. Bravo.
Grumbs did a brief description but it's a very involved, time consuming venture. 90% of strat is trading goods betweens towns/fiefs/castles/etc. to get gold so you can buy gear and equip your army. Also, you need gold to maintain your army. As a single player it's very difficult to play strat on your own, as most clans will just steam roll you because they have multiple people doing this, thus giving them multiple armies with tons of gear. if you want to play strat successfully, you should join a clan. it's slow paced so don't expect to excel on the map quickly. as i said 90% of strat is trade simulator, the other 10% is battles and nerd raging on forums. And yes you have to make one character your main. He/she is the only one on your account that can participate in strat battles and be active on the map itself.
Good luck.

If you scroll down you can find the Strategus area of the forum that has lots of detail. If I do strat it will just be to join big organised battles when the clans are getting together to fight. I can't really be bothered with the other stuff, and I don't think its easy to get into for new players. You can see Strat purely as an excuse to have organised battles though rather than the more free-for-all style you can get while pubbing
The extra XP can draw big numbers, and if people have things on the line I can imagine it being quite tense at times, especially if theres bad blood between clans

If you guys did it without strat I'm not it sounds like to much for me might do it in later generation

I still wonder why strat is so slow? It takes ages to equip shiny army that you can lose in one good battle. That's why they all unite in huge carebear alliances and attack only helpless targets(newbies, randomers, independant clans and others) playing without risk. Big battles itself is really fun, especially if its your own battle against equal enemy(not like 1600 shiny vs 100 unarmed) - there is a lot tactic and fun.
But that fact that you have to spend weeks to travel with trade caravan to earn good money kills all strat fun. All clans protecting their stupid s\d and you should put lot of efforts to have trade permission and good trade route. Instead of this shit i preffer steal enemies s\d penetrating in their backlines. But it risky.
You don't have to enter huge clan to participate in strat. You can be on your own, or even make your own faction, but to get success you should contact ppl, learn politics and help others you need good players to fill your roster. Its not easy but its possible.
In short words: strat is very slowpoke game, but sometimes its really fun!

you can just partivipate in strat battles without doing any of the above discribed stuff as long as you appoint a main. its a fun experience.

I will think about it in the meantime I need to become better ant melee and stuff first then I might
-
marty, take a look in our steam discussions. I think you can find information under the subforum 'usefull information' and if you look in the subforum 'trainers' there should be a list with the people that help with strategus. If you need more information, ask them for help and they can help you on your way

Strategus parameters are set, theres no way for a new player to start his own adventure.
Except banditting.

Waste of time.
If you would play strat you would be gen 100 and lvl 36.
