just play untill you get a tick, normally it should be over

you often have it after playing in strat battles because they are not 'directly' (cant find better word) connect to the site
==> you get your ticks and you get the xp, but you only lvl up when you get a tick in a official server

Yep, if you got your exp from a strat battle, just eu_1 or something and get 1 tick. Should get you a level up.
