Hey,
I´m really thinking about getting 1 more IF instead of 7 Ath. at level 32, because, the last time I had 7 Ath. is like 6 months ago or more and I can´t remember if the difference was that great, if even noticable (for a medium to heavy armored infantrymen).
I always maxed all "crucial" skills with every single char I played (so always PS, Ath and WM at max, max shield for shield-characters and so on) and put every remaining points in IF.
What do you guys think? Would 7 Ath. give me a greater advance than 2 HP more?

i prefer 7 athletics to 6, being able to run away from most ganks and catch archers is very useful, 1 IF will not do that much more
-
7 ath means you'll be able to outrun most of the builds on cRPG, while 6 places you right in the mid
-
i use a longspear, poleaxe and awlpike and i prefered 7 for movement
-
This is something for the beginner/ help section :P
But i would pick that 7th ath over an extra IF
-
5 ath is all u need, man up brah!
-
I like 7 ath so I can dart around. It's good for acceleration, and I need it as a long spear dude.
-
I feel that a point of ATH is going to save you a lot more often than a single point of IF. Dodging cav, helping with ganks, avoiding ganks, dodging ranged, castoring, and just footwork in general.
-
+2HP sucks, if you want IF take a lot of it not only 1 point (except for dumping skill points).
-
IF only if you decide to stick crapload of points on it. I normally keep IF to 0 on my main, cant say my survivability is decreased compared to my alts that have like 8 IF.
-
i feel quite a large diff between 6 or 0 IF, but when confronting an archer, I even more so feel the dif between 6 and 7 athl. 7 athl is more fun than 6 imo, especially if you take light armor from time to time.

Seven athletics is a must, because of shitty people called teammates. You need to be able to run from danger when ganked by group of assholes with pikes.
Despite that I'm still going to go 24/18, don't ask me why.

Because you like to do damage and not die too fast when you're not required to run away from danger when ganked by group of assholes with pikes !
Also, 0 ATH FTW, awareness and pre-emptive retreat goes a long way :D this or dying horribly like a true man !

Because I want to play str build and 24 is extreme enough for me. Prefer balanced builds.
-
Id pick 7 ath over +1 if aswell, allthough i dont build for 7 ath anymore, it's a bit overrated imo.
-
I'd always take 1 more athletics than 1 more IF.
That being said, I wouldn't suggest someone go for 21 agility just to have 1 more athletics than 6, but if you already have 21 AGI, then yeah I'd suggest going 7
-
I'm with the +1ath>+1if crowd. And 7 is beautiful.
-
Depends on your playstyle I guess :D. I take the 7 athletics for footwork so I can get around shielders, and even players with bad footwork :)!
It works for the following as well:
Helps you catch archers and other nerds
Allows you to target-switch
Run away from mobs
Get from A to B quicker
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not even sure if 2 additional HP is a swings-worth of damage?
-
I'm of the school of thought that your shield is your IF and as a shielder you need that extra speed! good luck man.
