Longsword on HB 1h or 2h proficiency?
I heard 2 different things and no one seems to know for certain. One thing I've heard was it uses 2h proficiency on HB if you do not have a shield. Why doesn't the game tell us these things? The animation swing shows he is using 1h to swing it, but yet it uses 2h proficiency?? sigh

How do you miss the dozens of 2h horsemen, you are NA afterallActually i dont know, I see them plenty overthere.. And on eu aswell kess often though

Well I was told by someone who uses the longsword it was 1h proficiency if you hold a shield

Longsword which shows in its description it has 3 modes (1h, 2h, and polearm) so I guess this person was right in game that said if you have a shield it is 1h, but I am still wondering if no shield is 1h or 2h because the guy swings only with 1h in the animation

As i said in my first post its 2h

I guess I'm looking for more, why, how do you know, etc haha

You can see it by animations.
Longsword without shield = 2h/polearm (press X to switch the mode)
Longsword + shield = 1h/polearm (press X to switch the mode)
Same on horseback (even though without shield it's still using 1h animation, but that's how any 2h weapon looks on horseback).

Longsword/HBS/Katana/Bastard sword/Morningstar (or any 2h weapon that can be used with a shield and on horseback for that matter) are:
2h on foot with no shield
1h on foot with shield
2h on horseback with no shield
1h on horseback with shield
Fairly logical I would've thought :)

Until you see them swing with 1h while on HB without a shield :D Then all logic goes out the window

just take it that we tell you the truth please

indeed weapons from the 2h category use 2h WPF while on horseback, unless used with a shield.
