Title: Catzilla Benchmark
Post by: Molly on January 06, 2013, 11:41:43 am
Thought I make an own topic on this one and everyone can post their scores... :D

Catzilla (http://www.allbenchmark.com/en/) has been released!
You may remember that I posted a preview of this glorious looking benchmark some time ago... now it's out. A classic benchmark like in the old days with a cool demo part instead of 3Dmarks boring game sequences! :D And it has cat overlords...

I've put the video in a spoiler in case someone wants to watch it on his/her pc for the first time instead of a video

Enjoy!

My score on the "cat"-benchmark is 4570  8-)

"Cat" 7245
"Tiger" 4261

For M&B you really don't need this high.
Still, e-peen.

7652 @tiger with stock speeds.

Definitely one of the more interesting benchmarks to come along.  Not a big fan of dubstep though.

My 5 year old pc scores 3668 on cat. Is that supposed to make me feel bad? Maybe it does :(

Also, FYI, it is BROSTEP, not dubstep, stop this slander against a proper genre

Now seriously hating on dubstep makes me feel like I have become my father. And I thought aging was a myth.

I like the sound cuz it fits the setting/action. And I am normally into Punk/NYHC/Rockabilly/Psychobilly...

I hate dubstep because it's shit music, has nothing to do with my ancestors.

Urban dictionary:
Brostep is a newer sub-genre of dubstep. It is usually more aggresive and louder than traditional dubstep. Most Americanized dubstep is considered brostep. For example Skrillex is considered brostep. Most dubstep fans hate brostep.

The goal appears to be to produce music as fast as you possibly can, without placing any emphasis on quality.

Unlike Dubstep where sub bass is key, Brostep places more emphasis on ratty high frequency samples and oscillators that arent even low frequency. Toss in a few hip hop vocal samples and you are well on your way to being the worlds next big Brostep producer.

Pretty much dubstep.

Because UD is authority on music genres. It has next to nothing in common with dubstep = it is not related.

Sounds pretty much the same to me. Even has basically the same name. Like saying Indie rock isn't rock.

If this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_6ekCgyt00) and this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSeNSzJ2-Jw) sounds the same to you, you might want to get your ears checked. Or your head.
