Not sure if anyone has had this problem or not, however I decided to jump back on my archer (which I haven't played for a few updates) and I noticed a very frustrating problem with my 3RD person reticule not being accurate as far as where the arrow is targeting/releasing. For some reason in 3rd person only (this doesn't happen in first person), the arrow hits/releases a fair bit (about an inch or so on screen, maybe a foot in game?) of where I am aiming the crosshairs. This isn't normal drop since this happens even with I am point blank on a wall and again, the same problem doesn't occur in first person. I can post pics tonight to explain what I am talking about more visually if this is hard to understand.
I also tried switching back to the normal client and had the same problem as well as trying a fresh install on another pc. Any ideas?

Hence why I haven't played my alt archer in months :?

Don“t play archer.
LOL...that's what I told him
Seriously though I've seen this in game (he showed me on duel server). Its really weird.
He aimed at a bolt on a door point blank in third person and in first person: the one shot from first person hit the bolt, and the one in third person was like an in-game foot or so below that...
Its weird.

This has happened since I can remember...
Nothing has changed and you get used to it quite quickly. It happens in Native, it happens in single player...

Strange, I had played archer quite a bit in native and was fairly active as an archer for a few months in c-rpg before I took a break, I never remember this issue before.
It almost seems like the camera for third person is effecting the reticule position relative to the center of the screen however your actual arrows aren't synced to this view.
-
Yes, the arrows will fly lower down from the center of the screen if you're in third person view. Don't ask me why because I don't know but it has always been this way.
It's just something that you'll have to get used to, the only thing that I can suggest is changing the reticule that you're using, edit ui_gadgets (if I remember correctly) and add a little arrow down to remind you or something. It'll help.
Alternatively you could be more accurate by putting a secondary dot below with regards to your resolution so that you can use that to aim when in third person. That'll take more work and I don't really know how it would work but it's always worth a try.

That is a "feature" TW added with one of their later patches(related to wFaS). Before that it was accurate in 1st person. Now we got a nice little offset.
-
Thanks for the responses, I do remember somewhat of having to "offset" my aim slightly but it feels very extreme right now. I had a few other people test it out for me and it seems they don't have nearly as much of an offset as I am getting. But I could just be crazy.
I don't ever remember it being this bad and I had typically been able to hit people without much trouble before yet the aim seems very unpredictable for me right now.
I am gonna do a few more tests with different bows/arrows and see if that helps at all.

Thanks Paul.
Love those nice little "features"
