I was playing there recently. Could be it's considered sacred ground now.

What are you running Novell or AIX?

What were you running that you felt was not giving you great performance?

chadz set the freedum parameter to 100 on NA (it's 'socialist' on EU servers)

Thanks for answering, was more curious than anything (I'm a Windows fan boy)

Same, although I don't mind Linux on servers. However if we have to run Wine, might as well run the real thing.

Seige attracts shitties, news at 11.

Atleast that is how it works in NA (for the most part).

When did this change happen?

I was on NA servers last night and they seemed to feel a bit better than usual...

my ping went from ~47 to ~41... so that improved.  I was getting a few pockets of lag though, every now and then... at one point everyone was frozen for a couple of seconds but that only happened once.

Awful last night right after they came up but great this morning so I guess you guys did something right.  Still missing ladders, though.

Oh silly vibe.

Spoke too soon, my ping was lowered but it was awful and choppy, though my computer could have half died in between the time the old servers went down and the new ones came up.

I seem to be having an easier time connecting with my swings.  Also, liking the changes to DTV; bots now block, hold and generally seem less spammy and bodies absorb hits like siege/battle.

Ping is the same, but I rubberband at intervals of 10 seconds. That may just be me, though.
Can I also ask if the map rotations were updated?

Ping dropped from 93 on average to 77, other than that game play feels the same as before. Hopefully this will fix NA_3.

Ping stayed at 40 or so. It's tough to live in north georgia and get shite ping, unless some jackass hosts california servers. NA_1 also did feel a bit more fluid, but that could have easily been placebo effect.

Everyone I talked with said hit-reg was resoundingly better. Stuff went smoother. Other than that, no big differences.

The real test will be when Strat comes back and we have large strat battles on NA_3.

Only played for about an hour or so, didn't notice much of a change, ping was the exact same, but no problems, so that's a plus.

I remember when you started playing, you used to be really bad at the game (like every new player) but I liked your name.
I was on recently and you topped the scoreboard, congratulations on becoming so much better! A success story <3

Yeah I was terrible for a long time, most played siege, not to say I'm some god now, I'm alright, but there's obviously quite a few above me, but it's definitely nice not dying every two seconds now. Thanks for noticing though, a little recognition especially from someone who saw me so long ago is very nice.

Ping is a little higher, but everything is in fact smoother and much less lag. I get little ping spikes, but it is less severe (~+30-40 ping and a little sliding) and probably my own connection.

I feel that chambering is a ton more reliable on battle servers now. Hitting it when I think it will work and getting hit when I knew I mistimed it, for nonstabs.

Hope to see a stress test under a strat battle to see how it performs under load.

I never had many problems with the servers until strat battles, as others mentioned.  That got soupy quick, and only got worse over time.

When those are back on and I join a big one I'll have more to report.  But thank you for gracing the NA mudhole with an upgrade!

May still just be me though.

Working great for me, haven't had any real problems on battle.  Not that I did much before either.  At the very least it doesn't seem to have introduced any new issues.

As mentioned by others, first big strat battle on NA will be the real test.
