Title: New retirement system.
Post by: Panos on January 02, 2013, 12:03:56 am
Am I the only one that is tired from the endless grinding??

I suggest this.
You retire at level 32 not 31,since 1to30=30to31=31to32

And when you retire you get to go on level 31 not 1.

Discuss.

There was a similiar topic somewhere.

Anyways, you can already do that, you're not forced to retire at level 31.

Make builds for 30 but retire at 32, thats what I'd do. You will spend most of your time at lvl 30+ and get 2 loom points at the end

I forgot to add a major aspect of my suggestion,my bad.

from level 1 to 31 you need 8.7 mil exp if i can recall correct.

from level 31 to 32 you need 8.7 mil exp, increase the retirement cap by 1 level it`s plain simple.

I play and have fun at level 30 to 31, retire, grinding to level 26 for 1 day is totally shit and makes me often stop playing, but I want the looms

Sounds like a good system. But lets restrict it for people who donated 100€ at least.

why would you? if you really want that, just retire at lvl 32. its your choice, but lets not make this even harder for the new players, it takes them already enough time to reach gen 2

New retirement idea.

You play till your char reaches 65, you retire and then spend the next 20 levels stuck on 1 for every stat....with an engorged prostate and rheumatoid arthritis.

But that`s the thing bro,new players find grinding boring, but on the other hand if u get on level 31,you have a full grown character and the game is more fun,no more useless peasants..and also the game will become more challenging..

Ignore me I`m just a retard.

yolo bro.

I played for 17 gens this mod and playing from lvl 1 to 20 is nightmare then it comes 10 lvls of super joy,and then nightmare of getting from lvl 30 to 31.
It takes too long,i would rather like to see it spearated in two or more lvls then 4 milions in one. It is like it never have its end.

Being a peasent is fun. It makes you appreciate being high level. Its the only way for people to understand how new players feel.

So, only new players with gen 1 could be low lvl? That kinda sucks. It's always nice to find another peasant in battle for epic duel , but what you're suggesting is total eliminating of real peasants.
cRPG without peasants = dead mod.

Could be cool if you lose a flat 75% xp when you retire and gain the xp bonus relative to the xp you lost when retiring and the loom points you gain are also relative to this factor, maybe gain a decimal place of a loom  point which contributes to a whole loom point?
Also remove minimum level for retirement, or change it to say; level 25-30?
This would cause people to no longer be forced to play until a certain point rather than being able to stop whenever they wish.

im gen 16 now and have decided to go high lvl now because i got bored of being low lvl, but i put the man hours into getting there and s0o i think you should as well, it may be annoying being a peasant but its part of the game.

Retire at level 15 and having to pay 5k more gold each time. Maybe we should go back to that system, just change it a bit  :?:

I retired on lvl33 yesterday, cause of the fun and pinktext, Veteran sound good for me, Grandmaster or Master sounds abit .... gay.

But i dont like it that there are sooo much MW stuff on the ground. They should be more rare ^.^

no cute peasants anymore !?! Nooo , save peasantry !
srs, lvling up from peasant level was one of core concepts in cRPG , which i like. Idc dieing and being useless with a character for a bit until i get my first kills. For me its part of the fun and a nice challenge each time i retire one of my alts. Even the lvl 1-20 server somewhat odd concept in my eyes.

I like reaching new lvl every few ticks now and then. Makes the low lvl "grind" as you call it much more enjoyable than going 31+, for me. I suck even with complete builds and whatnot, so i do not mind retiring everytime i get to 31. I was actually planning to get 5 more generations to reach gen 35 so when i got to lvl 35 i would be both lvl and gen 35

You're losing a gen bonus for xp if you do that then.  Unless you're over gen 16 (which a lot of us aren't)

Remember that you're getting a 100% xp/gold boost the 6th of January, so that the grind is already divided by 2.

Interesting argument, do go on. Perhaps I should have performed a piece of low-grade trolling such as is more suited to your MO?

Although frankly I think my joke took more brain power than this thread. Which I don't necessarily disagree with, but id rather see retirement scrapped altogether.

Unfortunately, we gotta have that grind....

I think we all should apologize to Ratigans superior brain power that we all lack, he is a rat after all.

Exactly! You try squeezing through a hole the size of a 50 pence piece when you yourself are 20 times that size.

It's not just a matter of physical ability. You have to plan it out.

That is exaclty what I think !
If you are not happy to be low lvl , go on the "serveur 5 maxlvl 20" for +50% xp and more fun !

There's already too much grinding. Dozens of hours just for one generation, that is for nolifers only.

Thats my point, grinding after a period of time becomes dull..

I think then current  system is good for 5,15 gens after that we gets tons of looms and hig lvl players that abuze calss balance, but I cant agree with you panos, just cant.
