Title: 2h shield?

I just thought of the idea of having a shield like a riot shield that covers your whole body but uses both hands when equipped so you cannot have a weapon, it would be useful when walking up ladders when archers are shooting at you etc.

What do you think ?

i doubt it can cover all, your body, maybe whole one side of your body,
and btw we already have that, and it needs only one hand

Back in the day it didnt need to actually cover those body parts. It just sucked up projectiles like a big electomagnet  :lol:

i think it still does that as people use this tiny little metal shield and it still protects them from projectiles :)

but back on topic: the board shield also discribes most of the points you mentioned. it covers all body parts but isn't really wide.
i think none shielders should be able to have a shield like this held by two hands that is like a board shield but wider so it can really cover the person(s) behind you. the disadvantage is that it'll cost 3 slots. so only for 2handers and and polearmers that cost 1 slot. no heavy twohanders using this shield and no shielders and heavy polearmers using it either so really if you wanna go and support your team/friends for a round or ofcourse strategus, where it would be extremely effective to lead archers to safespots or walls while the archer is almost completely protected. though in a melee fight it would be completely useless. i don't think it'll be overpowered at all because it's slow and you can't have a melee weapon allong side it.

Hahaha, Berethorn, you're funny now. Shielders using SUCH a shield? hahaha

2 shields=dead shielder. try to run away from enemy when you move like a turtle on sand. Maybe slower.

shielders won't use such a shield and its just for cover not for fighting.

I have a better idea, one huscarl shield for each hand. This would save a lot of working time.
Or even better two huscarls for the hands and two more laced at the knees, for a better all around protection.

Mala, nahhhh

1 huscarl on your back and 1 huscarl in your hand. Just make it so huscarl on your back takes 100% dmg and you are done. (now it's 50% dmg for ranged, not surea bout melee)

And you will feel so happy when you will move slower than a turtle!
