From my own custom mod work, I have a lot of unique weapon meshes and textures, etc. If I were to change the files of some of the weapons in my CRPG directory's BRFs, would the server detect a difference in my files, somehow, and get upset?

Those of you who haven't read my other thread should know that I play naked, and seeing as I have a mesh/texture for a hulk-esque muscle-bound barbarian, I would love to swap it out, rather than continue to be the puny endurance runner the game comes with.

no it wont, the point is that you can edit everything. but because you make your weapon look longer, it wont be longer offcourse.
this is how all the mods work, just replace a file with another file and it should be replaced in-game too. (same for sounds as i am doing for the warcrys)

never done this, but pretty sure. the heirloompack eg also just replaces files

can you also put your mod online? i think its interesting to have a better naked texture (thats what your plan is, isnt it?)

Absolutely, will do. Though mine might not be to everyone's taste. Not at my PC right now, so I can't show it yet, but it makes unarmored people look more like marvel superheroes than regular human beings. Rip-the-doors-off type physiques. I'm a Conan nerd.

Unfortunately, 100% of my modding ability comes from learning to change things that bother me. IE, being too skinny bothered me, so I started figuring out how to flesh out the unarmored model. Textures have yet to be as much of an issue for me, so I've only just started to figure out how texturing works, really. Seems like Finalboss' work is mostly retexturing, putting it outside of my limited ability.

... but if any of your weapons need bigger muscles, I'm your guy.

EDIT: Also if I'm perfectly honest, it seems like all he has left to do is armor, and I'm not really into that sort of thing :)

Will do ASAP man. Its current form is much better than the one in those pictures, too. Just got to sort out a little clipping in the armpits (the warband human skeleton isn't designed to accomidate massive latissimus dorsis) and then I will release it for the greater good. But I'm stuck in the hospital, so I won't be able to get back to it for a while  :mad:.

EDIT: I was also thinking about trying to make the naked textures pants heraldic (just color, no banner). Any thoughts on that?

you can use the backgroundcolor of the banner for that, seems pretty cool.

also, have you thought about body paint? would be fucking awesome :D

Here's the thing - back when I was doing single-player Floris mod, my custom shirtless berserker mesh was covered in icelandic/nordic magical staves/runes. A lot of them are oddly specific in a way that suits Warband:

I mean, "to break a horse's leg"... couldn't get more relevant.

However, in that setting I was able to make a custom armor that only my character had. Here, we're talking about a generic naked-mesh replacer, which means every naked character you encounter will look this way. Running into uber-buff dedicated throwers is one thing, but if every one of them is also all done up in the same woad, it will be a little too specific, don't you think?

ah nice, i have the floris mod :) however didnt play it yet because i had some problems with the installation i think

anyway, i dont actually think that there are so many naked players. I know you, penis toucher and kafein. and kafein is the only EU player i think. I dont think this would make a problem

Well, I have probably only been able to play a combined 20-30 hours over the past two months, but I feel like I ran into naked players on a regular basis, especially throwers. Maybe I just inspire people to ditch their armor-crutches when I log on.
