I haven't played in a few months and I was looking over the last couple patches. Based on what people are saying in those threads, something was changed for archery but I can't find any specific info.
So far, through my inductive reasoning skills, I can see that kiting was "nerfed" and it might have something to do with changes to athletics and/or power draw. Also, accuracy may have been reduced.
Can someone please tell me what the changes were so I can plan my build accordingly?
THanks!
tldr; I've been out of the game. How, exactly, was kiting "nerfed?"

They tried some stuff that didn't work. I believe the only change that stuck was that quivers weigh more. Possibly some of the bows. Nothing else.

cool cool...thanks for info.
edit: wow arrows are heavy as hell lol.

The ATH (and not PD) reducing Archery WPF was a really good change imo, that made archery build more heterogeneous (strength archer build viable). Plus it made kitting doable but with a really high cost which is good cause delete a way of playing is not a nice thing.
The real problem with this change they made was that they fucked up all archers build without giving them free respec and proper announcement ...
This was awful.
Announcement explaining what will the patch do and why archers will have free respect one week in advance. Then free respect for everyone having 1 PD or more.
Ain't that complicated =/

Except if you hand out respecs then everyone will want one every patch.
Anyway, this isn't a thread to talk about what should have been done, but what had been done.

What did actually change with archery at the patch that the original poster mentioned??
They did that thing with ATH but reversed it, was the new arrow weight the only thing that stayed? I thought some damage was increased or something....

Does arrow/bolt weight reduce wpf?
-
overall weight reduces wpf yes
-
No. Arrow/bolt weight does not reduce WPF.
only armor weight lowers wpf, overall weight (weapons/equipment + armor) lowers movement speed.
-
oh sorry for that, gotta check my resources :/
-
Athletics itself was reduced in speed a bit as well, but I don't know if this is relevant.
