Title: [Possible fix] WSE Crashing on update (with 2 monitors)

If you're experiencing consistent crashes with WSE while it's updating the launcher (it'll get anywhere from 20% to 80% done, and crash for literally no reason) here's what I found helps:

Ready? It's a big one: move the launcher from one monitor to the other.

I had my launcher going on my secondary monitor, and on a whim, I switched it over to my main screen, and it fixed it right up twice in a row.

So I've been having problems like you mentioned Dexxtaa and was like "Maybe this random ass fix will work" - so I turned off my secondary monitor and started the launcher on my main. Lo and behold it finishes updating and launches. Thank you Dexxtaa.

Also found out another thing with the crashing on update thing.

If the two monitors thing doesn't work, try running the game once without WSE2, then quitting, then restarting the game with WSE2 checked.

Worked twice for me so far.

Downloading update files and running the game are completely unrelated, that was just a coincidence.
