Open beta just started the other night, and other than some matchmaking issues I'm having an absolute blast.

Okay a few questions.

Is it possible to play it effectively without a joystick? I don't want to be completely gimped because I do not have one. Also, how steep is the learning curve? Never really played any mech combat games and don't have a lot of time at the moment so I can't be bothered to play for ages before I can get one or two kills.

I play with a mouse just fine.  It plays more like an FPS than Mech Warrior.

Also the learning curve is not steep at all.

It's pretty nice, decent customization not like MechWarrior Online but it has its benefits, plus its free.
