Title: Era of the Avatar Editing?

Lately, we've all started to see new avatars - slightly edited from originals - appearing in the cRPG forums. The point is, the vast majority of these avatars are stereotypical and mainly consist of an ingenious combination of fedoras, monocles and charming pipes or any other item that you can smoke from. Such as:

Even myself succumbed to this new fashion. I've become one of the legion, a member of the unstoppable Paint Horde. The question is why, what's up with the fucking monocles, and the fucking pipes, and the fucking beautiful fedoras? Is this the beginning of a Mad Paint Skills Horde? Is it only because it is Christmas and we all feel happy and eager to show our excitement? Are we just retarded? Are we mainstream and we copy this fashion from the Taleworlds forum, that has being following this new eccentric art of expression for some time now? Is it because the world ends the 21st of December and we do not give a shit?

I must admit I'm quite intrigued as to know where the point lies in this matter. There is no option left but to discuss.
