I remember the feeling I had when I first joined a battle server without ladders flying all over the place, so calm and no need to bring a stack of arena shields to defend myself from the unreachable archers that were constantly camping the roofs. It was wonderful  :cry:

But on Siege, ladders were even more fun, having a whole team flank the castle guards with a single siege ladder on the right wall, bring them back for siege, not for battle.

Now that archers have been nerfed yet again and can't run or fight, can we have ladders back so that we can at least get to advantageous positions?  Ladders are fun, bring them back.  The people who don't like ladders hate fun.  More fun please.

Ladderpulting is a non issue.  You have to be a pretty serious retard to get ladderpulted, considering you can see this giant ass ladder slowly rising.  I remember playing with ladders before they made them into non pulting skyladders. How many times did I get ladderpulted?  Zero.

Even now there are few maps where ranged can get to roof. It is quite delicate achievement to reach that place even without being shot at. So, if you want MORE maps with practically unreachable ranged, be my guest, but i do not like that. With the deadly accuracy archers have, with the amount of throwing shit in the air and considering the fact every second my old friend has a xbow on his back, this would totally make the mod unplayable for cav and infantry.

On a more serious note, i would prefer to have Ladders be restricted from battle, and have them back for Siege (With maps that keep them in mind).

Why even have roofs if we can't get on top of them and shoot shit.  Infantry can just go up the ladder and get a mess of kills.  Cavalry can't do shit about it and that serves them right.  They are already quite powerful.

Ladders used to get destroyed, making it unable for infantry to catch the 20 archers standing on 1 roof, making the round end in a unfair way, or in a draw.

Make ladders a lot tougher, maybe even unbreakable (though this of course would lead to massive trolling in some instances) if they're added back to battle.

Same HP, but make them indestructable for the team that placed it, this will avoid archers going to places where noone can get to them.

That would be rad too, unable to be damaged by friendly units. I was going to suggest it as well but tbh I wasn't and still am not sure the distinction could be made. If it could though, that would be the best course of action for adding them back.

Why ladders were horrible in battle : making all ranged invulnerable to melee and cav while attacking simultaneously and without even running, delayer heaven.

Why ladders were horrible in siege : very few maps made for them, ranged camping unreachable places, making maps for ladders leads to terrible map design an dull gameplay.

Does not fix the problem. Ever tried going up a ladder to a roof with 8 archers on it? Shield or no shield, that is not going to work. I refer you to Lizardman's screen if you think those numbers are exaggerated. No one with a sane memory that is not an archer and that has played EU_1 during the ladder era, does not want them back.

The amount of yes votes is just reaffirming the fact that half the community is a goldfish.

More like half the yes votes are from people who never even got to experience the ladder on cRPG. And the rest of the yes votes are most likely by trolls or other people who just clicked something and left the thread.

they were also good at stopping cav as they would slow when riding over them...... na is crazy as often lancer cav just top boards - - easy mode la

they seemed 2 make a good balance for other class except the fact that they break and leave archer on rooftop... so i agree with that point but shielders could easy slaughter them up there - -

If Devs ever add  ladders, they should be added only at siege and only at the beginning of the round.
For example: two pieces for the attacker team, to help them - especially if the map is tough (that they can be found on the spawn).
