Title: Stop virgin killing
Post by: oguzergin on December 08, 2012, 02:01:06 pm
I have a suggestion for Defend the virgin. Usually when people don't like the map they kill virgin to change it. Can the virgin auto report (or kick) people for hurting her? IF it was the case noone would touch the virgin.

Sometimes there are votes and even if we disagree people go ahead and try to kill virgin.

Another possbility is making the virgin invulnerable to teamhit.

The map being shit is not the fault of the players.

Every map has someone who thinks it is shit.

Teamkilling your team in battle or opening the gates in siege, just because you think the map is shit, is not allowed. Why should killing the virgin be? (hint: it's not).

But what if everyone think the map is shit? Well, thent hey can all just, I dunno, still try to play it? Or just let the bots kill the virgin? But if they let people think it is allowed to kill the virgin if "everyone agrees" then that doesn't stop the retards who then think it's ok to kill the virgin because they think the map is shit, regardless of what the others think.
And as we know:
Every map has someone who thinks it is shit.

Just make the virgin invulnerable to team-hit, as said before. POOF All problems solved.

make the virgin invulnerable AND add a "poll to change map" already...or at least a functionality to poll to change to an other, random, map.

To all : I'm not implying killing the virgin is legitimate, but people will do it if they feel there is a consensus that the map should be changed, as that's the only way to do it at the moment.

I'm glad you added the random suggestion. I wouldn't mind leaving map polls on except that I think that it would be used to constantly bring up maps with exploitable areas. Granted, no map should exist with these areas, but they do, so there you are.

There's no difference between map change by poll or map change by killing virgin, there will always be someone not agreeing in both cases and I think if 90% are killing virgin it's still better than a poll going 55% or something. In that case I think that it's a better solution to let the virgin getting killed to have much people agreeing.

I rarely play DTV, but the only time I ever saw this happen was during a THICK THICK SANDSSTORM where the virgin spawned on open ground in the desert. It was impossible to defend without walking 5 steps from the spawn. If it was a battle or siege server I would have straight up left and done something else.

But yeah it sucks when one or two guys decide MAP IS BROKEN CHANGE TO NEXT ONE. Currently they can drag everyone kicking and screaming to the next map, since there are almost never admins on DTV servers (at least in my experience).
