Title: Black screen

I played a little with the WSE2 beta today and my game froze for some seconds, then my screen was black, game still worked, I was able to use the chat and use my weapon (heard a swing sound) when I clicked on my mouse, dunno if its a 1 timer but still. Might have something to do with my AMD screendriver which have been acting weird for a long time now.

After I minimalise the game with alt + tab, and then try to maximise it again, black sceen appears. Also, the game seems to work as the game sounds are still working. Can't make the view appear again though, there are only sounds.

i have simmilar problem, when i minimalise the game with alt tab and then try to maximise it again, it does not work, black screen appears, but i hear ingame sounds.

Same as I had, only that I did not alt-tab, it just happened in fullscreen :/

Did the game crash previously (i.e. before one of the latest updates) when trying to alt-tab/minimize/maximize?

No, it didn't. At the beginning when WSE was released everything was ok.

for me it have never crashed while trying to alt-tab. but when the screen went black I saw a message popping up saying "AMD screen driver have stopped working" which is a problem I've had for 2 months after I updated my drivers.

Had exactly the same today after update and playing for 20 minutes or so. Froze, than black screen while the game still worked. Never happened before, I have NVDIA. no alt-tabing involved.

I got it 3 times today.
The last freeze was longer than the other and I got an error displayed:

Hi folks,
I add my problem here too. Its similar but maybe not the same.

First: Alt-Tab does not work. When I want to switch back to c-rpg I get black screen, but game seems to run never the less (no error msg, programm running in sys tray)

Second: I get total graphic fuck up from time to time, where textures behave strange (they are projected wildly over the screen like shown in the textures folder dds files).

I use:
Win XP sp.3
AMD Athlon X2 240
NVIDIA GT 640

Edit:

In windowed mode, with loading textures on demand: on, and lower graphic settings (antialiasing and texture details off / low) it runs with no problem until now.

I also add my alt-tab does not work either.
Freezes while the above are only temporary duration, the alt-tab gives me a permanant black screen.
The game does not freeze as I hear the sound, it's just as if the display does not reset.

IGNORE ALL. REPAIR HAS DONE THE TRICK. or whatever. all back to normal.



Update on graphic errors:

Also when I play with low graphic settings compared to my pre beta settings I get strange graphics after some time of gaming.

Some of those: ghost arrows, misplaced texture skinning, squre box shadows, banner mutation, etc.

Ok, I think you got an impression of my problem. With higher graphic settings things get even worse for me. So, help please.

The good thing: Game did not crash. I will try repair now, but I dont think it will help, becouse I did not modify anything and I dont run outher submods. so. I still will try.

Any help welcome.

I got it middle of strat battle. I could see my warband cursor and hear sounds. Happened to me after I died

Whenever my pc goes in sleep mode and I come back & log into my user again I always have this, otherwise never ^^

Edit: btw, is anyone else's loading screen way faster then before WSE2? Ine for sure is it only takes 2 minutes now compared to the 5 before wse2, it's great, WSE2 gogo!

got it today again while game was alt-tabed (not while pressing alt-tab, was running some time while i browsed. I think i noticed it because a small window of no sound [the freeze described before] and a change in GPU fan rotation) . Everything else same as usual. Got it now 3 times in about 2 weeks, not that often but it is there.

most often happens when is too much fuss and ( i think, i'm not sure but most of the time ) always catch me when i'm using "hold defend btn"

I've been having this problem and I believe that it's occurring for people such as myself that have Nvidia graphics cards. It seems to me that this WSE2 Beta is somehow changing the game so that occasionally the device drivers for our cards fail and cause our screen to go black. My card complains that device drivers have crashed and recovered after this happens, and it only happens in cRPG and only when I am running on the WSE2 Beta. I have never experienced it otherwise and my GPU is brand spanking new with new drivers installed.

Getting this all the time and it's ruining the game for me. It's crashed on my about 6 times today, one of those when I had a x5 and had over 20 kills. It was very upsetting.

I think this is a huge bug and must be fixed  as soon as possible

any news or fixes regarding this? Keeps happening here, 2x650M SLI with latest 314.22 drivers.

Is this caused by spedific settings (AKA something we could fix) or is it a freaking glitch? happens 3-4 times per map, quite annoying...

Paste the contents of crpg_beta_log.txt after it happens (or go to the Logs directory and find an old one).
