If this info correct
Quote from: Paul on April 20, 2011, 22:39:50
14% per PD is correct, upper limit is difficulty + 4. Wpf bonus multiplicator is (wpf * 0.01 * 0.15 + 0.85), so 100 wpf is needed to get base damage.
Cut down to 90% during rain.
Can you tell me then, what a reason to use warbow over strongbow?
Let's make a comparison
Strong Bow
price 6580
weight 1.25
requirement 5
spd rtng 63
shoot speed 51
thrust damage 24 cut
accuracy 96
War Bow
price 9250
weight 1.5
requirement 6
spd rtng 59
shoot speed 51
thrust damage 27 cut
accuracy 96
Can't use on horseback
Then let's do some math
24×1.14=27,36
24 (base strongbow damage)
0.14 (powerdraw bonus)
27.36 (base strongbow damage with 6 PD character)
So, with equal status (6 PD) we have even more interesting picture
Strong Bow
price 6580
weight 1.25
requirement 5
spd rtng 63
shoot speed 51
thrust damage 27.36 cut
accuracy 96
War Bow
price 9250
weight 1.5
requirement 6
spd rtng 59
shoot speed 51
thrust damage 27 cut
accuracy 96
Can't use on horseback
Can someone comment this?

your interpreting the power draw limit incorrectly.
The UPPER limit for a 5 pd req bow is 9... meaning if you had 10 power draw, you would not receive a bonus from 1 level of power draw. Your effective bonus would be 126%
The way you are reading it is Power Draw Difficulty - 4 If this was the case, you would be spot on that the Strong Bow being more damaging.
Hope that clears things up

Can you show me, where I suggest about power draw limit?
I suggest about
Situation:
1. character with 6 pd.
2. PD bonus to damage - 14%
3. Strongbow base damage - 24. + 3,36 (14% bonus from 1 pd over requirement) = 27,36
4. Warbow base damage - 27.
Conclusion
If you have an archer with 6 PD, there no reason to use warbow.
Because strongbow:
1. price friendly
2. have less weight
3. have faster rate of fire
4. have more damage
5. more accurate
6. have same as warbow projectile speed
Interesting? Yes. Even more interesting with Khergit bow
Khergit Bow
thrust damage 22 cut
22×1.28 (28% bonus from 2 pd over requirement) = 28,16
And with nomad
Nomad Bow
thrust damage 20 cut
20×1.42 (42% bonus from 3 pd over requirement) = 28,4

I am not sure, if you interpret it correctly... What if 1,2,3,4,5,6 PD gives a bonus to Warbow?\
But you are partially right.
Strong Bow with PD6 gets also:
bigger SHOT speed. (arrows FLYING faster)
better accuracy (pd gives accuracy)
you can hold bow drawed longer
-
You misinterpreted the PD bonus. I'll explain.
The limit for receiving more PD bonus is requirement + 4.
You always receive +14% each level until you are over that thresh-hold.
here is how it works.
Your example: PD 6.
War Bow w/ 27 dmg
27 dmg x (6x +14% dmg) = 50.22
Strong Bo w/ 24 dmg
24 dmg x (6x +14% dmg) = 44.64
War bow does more damage.
The PD +4 refers to that at 10 Power Draw, strong bow will only receive the bonus of 9 PD, while a war bow will receive the full 10 PD bonus.
-
pd requirement + 4 is the cap for the damage bonus. it just means if you got 10 PD strongbow wouldn't get 140% but only 126% damage bonus.
-
How about other bonuses, like accuracy, shot speed...? Are they capped at req+4, too?
-
I don't think they are.

I don't think they are.
This is the guy in charge of item imbalance xD no wonder the sidesword got through quality insurance tests.

Sir! Is the req+4 cap same with PT? Maybe such bonuses like shooting speed and accuracy are increasing with higher PD and PT even if PD/PT > 10?
That would explain, why some guy wityh MW Longbow with build for 14 PD is SOOO accurate! His name is... ColdBlood_Revenant, I think.

Ok. Thank for clarifying comments mates.

Sorry for being honest and too lazy to give detailed answers for every question. :(
P.S. Side sword was not my doing.

Some testing need to be done, where is Waltf4 ?

And yet another example of an ineffective pure build that should have gone hybrid cuz there no drawback  + he look cool in that silk robe

No, PT has no such limitation.
-
Sidesword changelog says Fasader did it.

It was obviously Urist.
