Hey I feel offended, I'm ranged. Are you saying that I suck at melee and cannot afford cav?
Well I got news for you, I can afford cav!! 8-)

Buy a Destrier and a lance, minimal armor (you won't need it) and some lulzy shield like a Heater Shield. Level thirty go 9 PS 3 SHLD and 5 Riding. Boom, affordable cav that will kill most things. You don't need the wpf as long as you do ride-bys. You might die on the ground but who cares.

Alternatively, buy a Courser instead and go 24/18 with the same concepts as mentioned above. Boom, cheaper and stupidly deadly cav.

Anyone can afford cav.

suck at ranged? go back to melee, spam like a madman, don't give a damn about blocking, you'll get KDR 2:1 if not higher  8-) I'm talking from my own experience

You could also learn to block and use footwork like everyone else that doesnt "suck dick at melee"

Maybe if your round starting horse survives + you are still riding it then chance to pay for your horse slightly decreases. I suggest this to see more armored horses not only arabian bikers

Huh? I never made money as an Archer and didn't even use my best equipment  :?

Anyone is able to afford a rouncey, which is a good enough horse to top the scoreboard with.
If you are not good at thrusting with a regular lance, use a great lance and you will get away really cheap.

No need for any armor either. Just use some light armor if any.
Here is a good build for this playstyle:

21/21
7 PS
7 RI
3 WM

being a archer is often more exspensive than using destrier as cav i know from personal experience, and as archer with the new nerf your forced to go melee with no wpf in or ps often because you so damn slow now, so bad advice to go archer instead of cav if he sucks at melee but for reducing price on horses no way turn that sucker up instead its to cheap to be cav:P

Making money with a Rouncey, Lance, and medium-heavy gear.
