Title: Archer Valour
Post by: EponiCo on November 14, 2012, 03:34:03 am
Don't reward horsearchers, reward archers who fight with melee weapons.

No, how often gets a horsearcher enough points to get valour?

Valour: courage or bravery, esp in battle

Valour & Ranged (including the use of bows & xbows): does not compute

Valour for melee that charge the frontlines not the ones that stay behind and only pull out their melee weapon in order to defend themselves which, in my opinion, has nothing to do with courage or bravery. Its just a matter of self defence as there is no option to run out of the map or surrender in crpg.
It takes balls to be on the frontline getting a hammer in the face while being peppered by ranged.

To have balls: Courage, especially when reckless

Fuck you Grumpy, this was what I was gonna write when I sow the topic name!

+1, btw. It's bravery that's supposed to be rewarded.

Remove valour until the score system is changed back to KDR.  Equal protection for all.  The hate against archers requires that they be treated as a protected class until further notice.

Since when do you need courage to play a video game?
I also wasn't thinking of a last man on the corner on the map, there are many situations in the game where an archers can choose between fighting melee and running. For example two melee comming your way, you can run and let the other guy who didn't see them serve as distraction for your getaway or notify him and engage the enemies in melee with little hope of survival. Now wouldn't that be the definition of "courage", nay, heroism?
Besides, that would reward a behaviour that melee players seem to prefer. Quite frankly I'm amazed that you are so against this idea when there are 100 whine threads about running archers.
