Title: Steel Buckler now one slot? reason?
Post by: Eugen on November 13, 2012, 10:27:46 am
Recently I tried my steel buckler again. It used to be a nice zero slot shield. It is quite expensive, very small with high armour, little hitpoints and intermediate speed. It was nice to have as backup shield for archers or in melee hybrids who want to carry a broader variety of weapons. Now it is one slot like all the other light wight shields  :(

Compared to the other steel shields its of little use now. And I doubt Steel Buckler was overpowered. Compare yourself:

Steel Buckler

weight: 3.5
body armor: 62
difficulty: 5
hit points: 118
speed rating: 98
shield height: 2
shield width: 2
Price: 6.912 gold

Plate Covered Round Shield

weight: 7.5
body armor: 61
difficulty: 4
hit points: 178
speed rating: 75
shield width: 31

Price: 4.156 gold

It has a much better speed, not that it is very important, but is the difference between blocking or not blocking in some cases.
Also, it is the lightest decent shield around, perfect for agiwhores with big shield skill.
It would be nice, though, if there was some other 0 slot shield...

Nah, its a time ago about half a year, it used to be 0 slot. I am pretty shure of that, couse I used it as backup shield on full euipped char.
I'd bet a loompoint on this.
However maybe round buckler still is 0 slot. Dont know.

Me or Mala?

Since I quit Merciless, I run under the name of El_Eugen. But I am leveling JOKER Irrsinn most of the time now. So. Bet you meant Mala. And ok. If you all say the oval buckler was one slot ... maybe you all are right.

And I dont do fattys. I am confused by nature.  :)

Still Steal Buckler would be decent 0 slot shield. It is small enough for it.

Rondel dagger needs to be 1 slot because of its high damage output.
