Title: Side Sword and Long Espada Eslavonga

Hi, im here to report a bug, currently those two swords are way to fast, and hit before the animation finishes, they also have ghost reach, and make the average player a god. Please remove those OP swords.

I have never seen any ghost reach on them, and they hit when their mesh hits.

I will agree that the side sword could lose a tad speed.

Long eslavona isn't really OP, since it has such bad cut damage. I haven't noticed any problems with them, though, beyond Side Sword being far too powerful.

Side sword has a ghost reach (probably one or two reach units, very noticeable with the right swing). That's why we are in the bug report section no ?

According to what the openBRF ruler says, the reach is correct, no extra lenght. It does damage at the very tip though, so it probably looks like it has extra even when it doesn't.

I'm telling you guys, there is no ghost reach and it does damage only when the mesh hits. Your guy's anger lies within the balance of the weapons, referring to their stats. There is no bug though.

As to the right swing it being evident? No, just right swings have more reach as the arm extends further.
1h swings:
left swing = fastest to hit but lowest reach
Right swing = slower but further reach
Overhead = slowest to Hit [as all overheads hit at end of animation]
Thrust = Most reach at full extend but functional reach is equal to or slightly lower than right hand swing. Hits roughly same time as it too.

Thank you, I'm so noobish I never knew that although I played 1h on cRPG for some months now... (mmh I'm speaking about me, but I sincerely doubt anyone here ignores that)

If it is so that the SS has no ghost range, why do all other 1h swords don't seem to have one ? It's the perception that makes it imba anyway, probably partially because the end of the blade is very thin.

There is nothing wrong with the Side Sword, Long Espada, Flamberge, etc. They are not OP, they are just good weapons that are expensive which they should be.

For example Flamberg is just silly cause it connects so early that you die to swings not even really started.

I have no problem with these weapons, yes they are fast, but if you can block a katana you can block one of these.

Though I would much rather fight 2 katana users at the same time than fight 1 shielder using either of these weapons... I hates Huscarl shields.

Long espada is fine, doesn't do great damage and has good reach, balanced IMO.

Side sword has great reach, great speed and does good damage on all attacks.


The ghost reach hes talking about is due to the the end being so narrow it is hard to spot, you may think you are out of range or it may appear you are but it still hits, this is human error not the game.

Most of the weapons has longer hitboxes than the texture.
Warhammer,Military Pick,Side Sword and barmace for example.

they do have ghost reach and they are faster than the animation. im for removing them from crpg! they even dont really fit in the middle ages.

for ppls who have heirloomed them give them the opportunity to heirloom anyother equipment object :p

Download that, open it and then go to cRPG/resources. Open up 15th_century_weapons.brf and find the weapons you want. Click the Ruler button and adjust it so that it is at the very tip of the model. Check the lenght in webpage.

I'd prefer they were removed though, mind you. At the moment people are pretty much using solely them and variety they were made to promote is gone.

There is no bug with these weapons models, mesh, etc.
Everything being discussed here is in reference to balance. Stuff that will be tweaked in the upcoming patch. If you have suggestion,  please make them in the suggestions section in relevant topics.
