Waiting for that melee to get close enough to get that last arrow in for the stun so you can switch weapons? Just drop your pants instead.
So now when cavalry charges in, not only can you not sidestep, but your arrow no longer interrupts a couch?
Its bad enough that arrows are going through people all over the place, but now you can't even count on the mechanic that allowed you to save your unawares teammate from a lance to the back. Great shot from 200 yards to hit the Lancer and not the horse! Too fucking bad arrows don't interrupt and your teammate got couched in the back anyhow.
Fuck, just take the class out of the game.

[00:59] <Zlisch_The_Butc> "So now when cavalry charges in, not only can you not sidestep, but your arrow no longer interrupts a couch? " someone please point out to this guy that shields can block projectiles while couching.

I would think any experienced archer would be able to tell if they scored a hit on the lancer from the hit sound. Not to discredit Zilsch but I think Pappy already had this part figured out.
To get back on topic, as far as I have noticed arrows still stun me when I get shot.

Lances don't auto-equip with a shield and 90% of the NA lancers aren't carrying shields and yes, I can figure out when I shoot a shield.
I love people

EDIT: OH I SEE MY MISTAKE! I ATTRACTED A BUNCH OF CAV WHORES BY PLACING THE COUCH INTERRUPT FIRST INSTEAD OF MELEE AND JUST IN FUCKING GENERAL YOU CIRCLE JERKING HORSECOCK SUCKING ASSWIPES!

more mutual murder will benefit everyone
I love when people are able to kill each other at the same time, they should allow more swinging thru unless you are hit really hard or with blunt weapon
-
I hear you. In melee that's a valid point. I've seen mutual knockouts in MMA.
I think the issue is likely tied to the damage I am doing (or more to the point, not doing)

Arrows look like they may interrupt a couch, but there's a significant delay on it compared to the model of the character getting interrupted.

A valid point. I've started riding a horse this last gen and noticed that, for instance, things can start to get strange when riding the Arabian at full speed. Not unusual to be 20 feet past someone to have their slash that looked 15 feet short and 2 seconds too late hit you.

The way that hit registry acts in this game has gotten stranger and stranger as cRPG has become more complex.

just take the class out of the game.
I agree with OPs suggestion.
