i think that archers should be a little more realistic made in things like aiming :p
i suggest that after every shot your crosshair disappears and needs to be "drawn together" again by charging the bow (bow) or by aiming down the sights (xbow) thats more realistic because on medieval times the archers had to aim again after every shot, and not like its now or in native that your crosshair is permanent visible and u can pre aim and shoot like a stationary mashine gun...
good idea or bad? ive seen in in any mod, can that be? if you know somtheing more precise pls post sth.
:?:

hey you guys just vote. give a statement why why not.
-
dont really understand suggestion.
-
the idea is that after you have released an arrow you crosshair opens again widely and with drawing animation of the bow it gets accurate again. archers would have to aim new after every shot and cant keep mashinegun pre aiming :p
got it banok? my english sucks pretty bad atm im playing while typing =D

i either understand it and think its completely useless or i don't understand it at all.

This is pointless. Even if the crosshairs open like they do now, but even more, I still know that I am pointing at the same spot... And when the crosshairs close, voila I am indeed pointed at the same spot.
If the target stays still I obviously will be able to zero in on him, but if he moves then under the same Game mechanics we have now, I still have to adjust my aim...
If we want to talk realism, real archers never take their eyes off the target because reloading a bow is not that complicated once you know what you are doing, so there is no need to keep reaiming at a stationary target.

+1 :?

and on moving targets destiny?

The game mechanics as of now demand that you keep adjusting aim on moving targets, just like irl.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has a multi-gen archer say otherwise...

I've played archer 2 and a half gens (the half comes from my first gen where I was a garbage mix of 1h/shield and archer) and I think this suggestion is interesting but won't really do much. If I'm correct in understanding the suggestion it really won't be different from how archery is now. You always need to adjust your aim on the fly anyways so the mini split second of 'getting' your crosshairs when you begin the pull is negligible.
A stationary archer is a dead archer in my experience, so I'm on the move the whole time anyways, stopping only when I release the shot. The 'machine gun turret' issue rarely happens and assumes the target isn't moving. But the suggestion wouldn't even change that aspect since once you have the shot lined up you can keep it there sooo...
yeah. Not really sold on this.

cRPG could learn alot from Vikingr, no matter what these conservatives say
-
thalamond this thread has nothing to do with vikingr :P ur in the wrong threat ^^
umm yeah i guess mrshine got what i say. it would not be any differnce in balancing, just a little realistic featrure <3

I say just disable the crosshair instead of nerfing bow/xbow damages and speed.
The way they try to nerf ranged is hilarious lol.
Just disable the crosshair !

Honestly, I really don't pay attention to the crosshair anyways. The only time I actually use it is when I'm honing in on an enemy.
What I'm getting out of this is that he wants the crosshairs to be disabled until you start drawing the bow; if so, I vote "No".

yeah thats what i mean dragon. well most ppl dislike this idea... topic locked.
