Segd also recently suggested this change here : http://forum.meleegaming.com/strategus-general-discussion/add-transfer-function-at-the-inventory-page/
But I wanted to elaborate some...
PROBLEM
----------------------------------------------
Right now we have an INFO tab and an INVENTORY tab in Strategus.
 The INVENTORY tab is graphical and great to use (especially with dodnet's addon : http://forum.meleegaming.com/strategus-general-discussion/strategus-sorted-inventory-(greasemonkey-script)/)
 The INFO tab is horrible to use for transfers in its current state, very confusing and hard to gauge what you have and what you are transferring.
 In addition - there is no INVENTORY for fief owners to see what is in their holding, rather than on themselves.
All they can look at is the horrible list in INFO tab.
SOLUTION
----------------------------------------------
 REMOVE transfers from the INFO tab entirely. Move it to the INVENTORY tab.
The way I would suggest doing this is simply adding a "TRANSFER" button at the bottom of your INVENTORY tab right next to the current "SELL" one. Next to the TRANSFER button would be a drop down with people in range for you to transfer to, just like it currently works on the INFO tab.
Leave the info tab for all the rest of the things it does.
 In addition....at the TOP of the INVENTORY tab, there would now be another option.
IF YOU ARE A FIEF/CASTLE/TOWN OWNER and INSIDE your holding - in your INVENTORY tab at the top there would be another option to see THAT inventory instead of your own, and would have all the same options as the current one. Basically, you could toggle back and forth between your inventory and the inventory of your holding if you were there.
RESULT
---------------------------------
The result would be a much much better and more usable transfer process which would help factions divy up armies and recombine them, reinforce their holdings, etc.
Thoughts?

Transfer to your self and organize that way. Yea it sucks, but way better than using info screen. Transfer back what you want into castle(or people). Spreadsheets help.

bump, since this seems to have been pretty popular

I did send it to myself and even used the self-sorter program so my inventory is cleaner. But I still have to use info tab for transferring where you might have 4 different types of horn bows scattered among a hundred items not in order with no idea which is the +3 ones unoless you notice how many +3 items you have in inventory and then go back. Took like 3-4 hours to get all this craps orted when it could have been done in 20 minutes if info tab wasn't so ridiculously under-programmed.

Then don't have many suits of weapons and armor. I have exactly 2 setups for our army: Heavy armor and Medium Armor.(Doubles as archer armor) I limit the weapons to a select few and only use other weapons if the NEED is there.Because of this, I have(at most) 4-6 sets of the two different armors and only 3 sets of weapons for each weapon(counting broken variants).
Streamlined, well managed army system.(the armory expands as time goes, but the core is primarily 1-2 weapons on each class)

I think this is a little idealistic for most people...you'd have to be pretty careful to keep it this streamlined, especially in the middle of a war.

HAHAHA! I do it myself. It's not hard. Then of course, I've been playing strat longer than all the NA players on here save for the Remnant(old remnant) guys. They been playing strat almost as long as me.
I spend time(usually 1-2 hours) on gear for the army and castle. I keep running tallies on my weapons and armor so I know what I have at all points WITHOUT looking at strat. Which reminds me, I have to reorganize after 2 weeks of recuritment. Got lots of new gear and troops to handle.

TKoV streamlines most of our gear the same way, but even then, during a war with the way the current looting system works, and how used items get degraded after each battle, it still makes doing transfers a huge pain in the ass. Especially after winning a big when there is a ton of degraded loot to sort. All for the OPs idea, the devs took a step in the right direction compared to strat 2 and most of strat 3 with the transfer menu, but they need to finish off with this.
On a side note, i can see my self accidentally selling the gear instead of transferring since the buttons will be so close together, but that would just be my own dumbass fault.

I just sell the looted gear. Why? cause most gear i buy is already at 30-40% reductions. Replacing with new gear is easy. In addition, I paid 0 gold for them so all sold gear is profit.
If i feel profit is worthless, or otherwise, the gear gets dropped onto something that isn't worth the weight in buying new gear.
Also, it organizes looted gear all at the bottom of your info tab, along with your broken gear. Come on, have you guys not bothered paying attention to these things?
Streamlining your army is better. Your mercs get only select weapons, but you have less maintenance and you can properly gear armies for prices you know.
And, yes, it sucks using INFO tab. At least we got the MULTIPLE transfers done. Imagine doing all this with the old 1 transfer at a time...I'd just sell everything and say to hell with it!

Well, Anders, I hear ya....and trust me, I keep a google docs spreadsheet as well because of how bad the ingame system is (dodnets plugin helps a TON).
**BUT**
The questions here is not "how good is Anders at organizing a shitty interface" the question is "should the shitty interface be better?"
I'd hope you'd agree it could be better.

Well since you have 1 fief selling the looted gear is fine, but with the larger battles you get soooo much loot back, it would be a waste to sell it, large factions can use all the loot, even the -2 or -3 crap, to garrison their fiefs or equip caravans/raiders/border patrols. Organizing all that is such a pain with the current system :(

Not everyone on strat is swimming in gold so they can sell all the looted stuff. So some of us low creatures have to organize the stuff we have.

Oh, that's not to say I don't use it, it's just certain gear gets sold if it's damaged to make way for non damaged items. Non damaged items are ten times better than damaged ones because damage is a huge penalty.(armor it's much more miniscule, but weapons it's noticable)
But even then, yes, I'd like a new system. Never said I wasn't, I just use what I got efficiently right now.
