No, bad idea: these items are expensive for a reason, and that reason is: IM RICH BITCH
Im serious, if you cannot afford the upkeep these, you ARE a peasant and dont deserve these items, they are not for plebs, they are for us nobles. Their price reflects how they look and not their armour value, noone who is wearing that stuff is wearing it for its min-maxing potential, they wearing it because they are pimps and thats blingbling
Like BlindGuy said, they are "expensive" for a reason.
If anything the prices should be increased further so that those who wears them gets a higher status.

I'm no peasant little Templar guy, having enough money to pay for your upkeep doesn't mean you don't want the peasant clothes to be the price they "deserve".
LOL, they ARE NOT peasant clothes, thats what u have not understood: They are Noble's clothes, and clearly look different from the ACTUAL peasant clothes.

I know they don't look like the regular peasant scramble, but their armor stats are lower than most peasant clothes, which barely have an upkeep price. I just find it silly to put 200+ repair on clothes that are lower than most peasant armor.

Nobody in c-RPG is a noble unless they own a fief, otherwise you are just some rich sod who possibly has a horse.
So if I own a fief and wear these clothes you will address me as "My Lord", and give me the respect a royal noble deserves? You better, elsewise I'll have your tongue.
You are missing the point. Take a look at real life.
Rich people don't complain about low armor values. They wear expensive clothes to seperate from lower class people.
They don't care about how protective their clothes are...
Nope, being one of the Fallen Brigade I'd tell you in no uncertain terms to go stuff yourself, and watch with dry amusement as you can't enforce your threats of taking my tongue. You'd be a noble, possibly rich, possibly poor, but I would not care one whit.
I like turtles.
Tell me Riddaren, since when in this modern age did rich people wear expensive non-protecting armor?
You know the medieval age is over right?

Applesauce, go take your discussion about nobles somewhere else, plz?
Rich people wear clothes with an extreme emphasis on form over function. That is why they are so expensive despite having no real value in a fight. The armor rating is low because a wedding dress (for example) is not at all designed for combat.
You are taking this silly thing very seriously.
The expensive clothes in cRPG are not armor, which you seem to believe. They are clothes.

You fail to appreciate my many real life holdings and titles, serf!
Also noble =/= being a lord, traditionally the nobility were made up of landed aristocracy but the two are not mutually inclusive and i belive the same goes for Calradia.
