Its a spiked club. Should be cheap. Sometimes item pricing should be ignored for realism.

So? Balance over realism.
and even if not, a quarter staff costs more than a voulge, which has metal? Or the price of gloves in comparison to body? And a mallet costing more than a sword?

This is a real issue.

Not really but it should be fixed.
