I myself am voting for War of the Roses, because of its 4 way attack and ACTUAL blocking, unlike Chivalry, where you just look at their weapon and press block.
-
both are crap.

war of the roses is a better "concept", but chivalry is a much better game. if wotr was done well it would be pretty much an enhanced CRPG, but they fucked up pretty bad making it, if you've played it you know what i mean.
chivalry on the other hand, is pretty bad mechanics wise but it's much more fun to play - the ridiculous voice acting, lopping off heads, the objective game-modes, etc.

I feel WoTR is the closest to a good game. But the specific differences it has with a good game make it a rather bad one.
Chivalry however, feels like it has a few months to live before everyone plays perfectly. The mechanics aren't deep at all.

Chivalry hands down. I take chivalry as an arcadey version of M&B. In that sense I expect the mechanics to be a little less serious and not to include directional blocking and it works. The style, the gameplay and way it handles lends itself to that and so it's very enjoyable. It's something I look to now with a melee game because these days I don't have an awful lot of time to play so I cba to put myself to the more serious mechanics and style of crpg. Chivalry certainly suits a more casual, purely for fun play style.
WotR would have been great if it wasn't buggy as hell. The mechanics are there they just aren't put together well. It's not a complete game in my opinion so it's a non starter there.

Everybody saw it from beta start only fatshark developers were blind. Game developed without any vision only on greedy paradox order, probably after taleworlds turn them down and goes independent again its not in 100 most played games on steam anymore.
Chivalry is little fun arcade game where developers had their vision and it woks fairly good.
-
I just checked that 100 most played crazy that M&B is still top 30, and that is without c-rpg being counted since the devs broke the steam launcher 6 months ago. Possibly other mods not counted too.

Chivalry hands down, it's one of the best multiplayer games I've ever played. The only criticism I have is that first person isn't forced on every server, and that on your side swings you can't start out going left (always goes to the right).
I like how your swing is only interrupted if you get hit before you chamber it back fully (aka before it starts coming forward).

Chivalry is broken like a mother, but it's fun. So I don't really care about the mechanics, since I don't get super involved in it anyway.
If you make a shitty, fun game; it's a hundred times better - to me - compared to a perfect, boring as fuck game.

Hihi...ppl. sound like they go 10/1 k/d in Chivalry....because its so easy and arcade.
It is not. You fought bad players. Thats all.
MaB mechanix are AS simple AS.
The game isnt bugged at all. Minor tweaks on weapon collision required.
Was worth every penny so far.

The main difference between the two games is that in Chivalry you have awesome fun fighting other players in brutal battles, in War of the Roses you spend most of your time fighting with the horrible game mechanics and sluggish controls that make spamming the best thing to do, I went 34-4 in War of the Roses on one match I played just spamming thrust with my two hand sword, lol.
