Title: new upkeep idea
Post by: Glyph on April 20, 2011, 04:18:45 pm
are you also so mad that you have to repair things that you didn´t even use a round?! well i know i am.

my idea is that every weapon, armor, shield and projectile will get HP. and for the more HP your gear will lose the more you´ll have to pay. just as in real life. for the problem of gear breaking they just need so much HP that they couldn´t even break if 100 people would smash at it for an hour.
ofcourse gear should get less good if you don´t repair it for a while so the number of HP that the gearpiece misses it gets less attack/armor. that numer won´t be 0.0000001 ofcourse but only 0,1,2,etc.
the idea itself is pretty simple.

sounds like an ok idea, but if this was implemented, i could see it costing even more money every round...

Implementing and balancing it would be a bitch.

Well, it's sad but EU official servers allready are struggling with 100 players. This could well put the servers we have to their knees.

It takes a lot of processing power to calculate and track all these values for all the players in a server. So servers might have a hard time doing this.

ofcourse in total you would have to pay just as much as upkeep now but you don't have to pay  for things you don't/bearly use so that's a good thing that's not in the current system.
