My remedy for TKs is to make the TKer pay the upkeep costs of the victim.
So if I TK you ,I will have to pay your upkeep costs for that round and you won't, but you will get to see a message saying how much I have to pay.
This will have 2 main effects.
1. An incentive to be more careful.
2. It will make the TK victim less likely to start a TKing war as they know the attacker will be financially punished.
Thnx

Nice, I'll get my full black plate armor (except head) with 4 construction sites and a plated charger and jump in front of that archer  epic drama coming.
I'm sorry, a simple tk penalty has to be small (we consider tk as accidental) and not dependant on anything the player can change at will (like his equipment). Choosing to scale the penalty with the level of the victim or his k/d ratio is better.

You'll have to jump several times infront of the archer, or jump off a roof first to get your HP down. One arrow will not kill you in black armor, especially with 50% friendly damage.
Yes, it is not impossible to abuse, but intentionally TK someone with ranged and saying oops, is even easier. Not to mention just wounding a team mate from afa - He will not even know who did it.

I meant an upkeep payment not the full kit out cost.

-1 This is a horrible idea and you should be ashamed of yourself.

There will always be TK it's just part of the game, 95% is accidental, so punishing someone for it would just cause even more rage like Kafein said.
If you get teamhit a lot you might consider changing your playstyle, like avoiding 5vs1 fight (or use a long trusting weapon) and so on... Yes it does work !
