So... The 18/18 hybrid archer build I was going for on an alt is nerfed :/
Now I guess I have to respec, into high PD archer, what would the max PD I could go be?
-
13, wait 15 at lvl 35
-
(15*PD)-(1.5^(PD))
(15*0)-(1.5^(0)) = -1
(15*1)-(1.5^(1)) = 13.5
(15*2)-(1.5^(2)) = ~27.8
(15*3)-(1.5^(3)) = ~41.6
(15*4)-(1.5^(4)) = ~54.9
(15*5)-(1.5^(5)) = ~67.4
(15*6)-(1.5^(6)) = ~78.6
(15*7)-(1.5^(7)) = ~87.9
(15*8)-(1.5^(8)) = ~94.4
(15*9)-(1.5^(9)) = ~96.6
(15*10)-(1.5^(10)) = ~92.3
(15*11)-(1.5^(11)) = ~78.5
(15*12)-(1.5^(12)) = ~50.3
(15*13)-(1.5^(13)) = ~0.38
Your choice

lol will that be viable?
-
Don't you know that Shik has 9pd\5wm archer?
Feel free to use only valid archer build now.
-
I tried 13 pd stf +mw longbow and bodkins. Closed crosshair + high dmg.

Try 30/9 with 10 PD, 3 WM and 10 PS. All archery wpf.
It's the new archer god build.

Not 13 pd? :(

Remember that PD is not optimal if you exceed 4 higher then the bow's minimum PD requirements, it arguably adds the amount of time you can hold a tight crosshair, but it does not add additional damage past that point (courtesy of Native Mechanics in Single Player).
Personally I like either 30/12 or 24/12.
No Athletics.
30/12 would be 10PD 4WM 3 PS, and (my personal favorite) the wonderful 24/12 is a super-lulzy and pretty effective 8PS 8IF 8PD 4WM 1ATHL (138 archery wpf 4 2H wpf) build (since 1 athletics only lowers wpf by 6 points), so grab a Yumi/Horn, one stack of Bodkins, and a long two hander and you can beat the holy hell out of anything and anyone. Having zero athletics is a non-issue if you are smart and think ahead and especially if you have a few clanmates to travel with.
I am actually extremely amused that after so long, the current bizzaro-land archery mechanics is forcing everyone to play with builds identical or near-identical to what I preferred when starting c-RPG (a bow, some arrows and a mean nasty two hander).

BUT
You become accurater and the speed of your arrow increases, so also the dmg.
Try 13 pd on a stf.

so whats the best build :o
-
...
-
going 30 9
-
Strength: 27
Agility: 12
Skills to attributes: 8
Power Strike: 7
Athletics: 3
Power Draw: 9
Weapon Master: 4
Archery: 140
I had a lot of fun goofing around with this build on my STF.
Take a long, fast 1h sidearm (elite scimitar and the NCS are both good choices). A 1-slot 2h is also an option, but I prefer 1h for 1 WPF shenanigans. I tried using a warhammer, but 3 ath with a weapon that short is just painful.
Be aware that 3 ath with a 1-hander is far from optimal, so avoid getting into duels if you can avoid it.
-
so 10 PD 7 PS 3 ATH 3 VM now after patch? :D

Meow said the new formula for WPF LOSS is (14*PD)-((1.4)^PD)
1 PD = 12.6
2 PD = 26.0
3 PD = 39.2
4 PD = 52.1
5 PD = 64.6
6 PD = 76.4
7 PD = 87.4
8 PD = 97.2
9 PD = 105.3
10 PD = 111.0
11 PD = 113.5
12 PD = 111.3
13 PD = 102.6
14 PD = 84.8
15 PD = 54.4
-
So I need 140 wpf for 10 PD?
