Title: 30 pierce dagger is insane

How a little dagger can makes more damage than a sword ?

wich one would you prefer to receive in your body ?

A hit suppose than 10 cm of the dagger penetrate the body. And at least 30 cm (or even more) for a sword.  Just imagine the size of the blade. A sword can destroy even bones and skull. What can do a short little dagger ?

Maybe it's easier(reflected by speed movment). But what about DAMAGES ? Why do you think most fighters were using any kind of sword instead of daggers on battlefields ?

They were using daggers against plated knights, not swords.

Also that dagger is poisoned, that's why it deals massive damage.

Ok, i'm a 1H, 10 PS. I've just found THE weapon. You can forget all your massives 2H etc. I can kill you with 2 hits.

You can't block with it. I'll be pressing S and spam my long sword until you die or run away.

No I won't. I can block 114 fast dagger but you can't block any weapon, no matter how slow it is :D

Seriously, whoever dies to daggers is a nub, I've never had issues with players using weapons that can't block, no matter how good those players are (Kastu). They can't win if you use your brain for few seconds.

Why are daggers usable with a shield anyway? Doesn't look cool at all.

Off-hand fighting with daggers makes sense and it is cool. Do it Paul!

Most fighters were using spears on the battlefield. They had swords,axes, and maces, as back up weapons when the enemy got too close. If for whatever reason the enemy got even closer (think grappling) they would bring out the dagger. Or when they find that their sword is a piece of shit, which most of them were when fighting mail armor and higher, they brought out the dagger to stab the other person in the eye, the mouth, the anywhere not covered in armor that a sword just didn't have the precision to hit.

Thats the realism argument.

The balance argument is, block down and S key.

I doubt it. You have no idea how many people are WHINING in the NH battles because they have to use 96 speed unbalanced battle axes instead of their 92 speed danish's or 98 speed HBS. Women.

Indeed. This patch was very good for two handers, generally.

That's because the axes sucked before. They used to be slow LARPer toys but now they hit like monster trucks. They'll be considered the cut damage variant of the Morningstar and get proper respect very soon.

Please no nerf. This dagger is so small that it's almost like fist-o-cuffs; getting a stab off is pretty difficult. Realistically, once you were in close it was 10x easier to kill someone using a dagger, and quicker.

For all who missed it: secondary mode is slashing for 28 pierce.

I think this dagger it's a very nice (OP maybe) 1h for Arbalest xbowman.
2 slots for Arba 1 for bolts 1 for some decent shield and 0 for dagger. This way you get projectile proof ranged that can 1 hit in melee  with a (pierce) slash to the face.

Just a thought... Don't do it... Especially in organized hordes  :wink:

This dagger is awesome, but in the hands of assassins, not steel shields bundle of stickss!
