Title: Light & Darkness (Warband mod)
Post by: Corwin on October 26, 2012, 10:36:18 pm
I am just downloading it, it seems to have more meaningful quests and the campaign that the original. Did anyone try it?

I fought the Dark Inquisitors band of 135 soldiers with around 95 dudes.

I killed 3 of them.

40 of mine died; almost all the rest wounded.

God damn it, game. God damn it.

Nonsense, this is the first mod for Warband with an actual meaningful campaign and nice quests.

Are there any other mods like this one for Warband? A campaign where you actually have a main quest, side-quests, etc.? More a RPG form and less a sandbox campaign?

Not that I know of, but Prophecy of Pendor is the closest thing.

Reminds me of sword of damocles mod. When the black army arrived... I took about 1k people there (300 were mine and the others were from lords in my player faction). They had about the same amount.

My army was wiped and my lords ran away at a cost of maybe 50 soldiers on their side. Damn they can take a beating. Even their archers took headshots from my bow without flinching. Scary as hell. My kingdom was quickly raided and burned.

That must be from some super early version of the mod.

The later versions (as well as the future proper release for Warband) features the invaders as The Empire, themed after romans, invading with as much as 20k (!) or more troops :)

Maybe I'm thinking of a different mod then. Hmm..

Regardless, the black army scared me more than the Empire ever did in SoD. They had far more numbers but they died easily enough. I could cleave through with brute force. The black army just stood there shooting me while my men died in droves then charged to kill the men that just spawned in to replace the men that died. I had to headshot their archers twice let alone their actual melee soldiers.

Unfortunately I liked SoD far better but it had issues with my computer. I had problems with battles and it would either lag heavily or freeze sporadically. Not fun. I liked the idea back in the original M&B and liked the new map they made for warband. Unfortunately I couldn't handle it or it was too buggy. Either way..
