Title: 2h german greatsword build
Post by: Tusen on April 19, 2011, 06:04:56 am
Hey guys, i just retired and decided i'm going to go with a 2h german great sword build. I came up with this, if anyone has any suggestions please lemme know.

Strength: 21
Agility: 18
Hit points: 70
Converted: 8
Ironflesh: 7
Power Strike: 7
Shield: 0
Athletics: 4
Riding: 0
Horse Archery: 0
Power Draw: 0
Power Throw: 0
Weapon Master: 5
One Handed: 1
Two Handed: 148
Polearm: 1
Archery: 1
Crossbow: 1
Throwing: 1

Also, i'm planning on using the 20k chainmail with mil helm mail mittens and mail boots. I'm looking for good survivability with good damage and decent swing speed.

Thanks for any suggestions.

33/6 or 36/3 are also good builds if you don't plan on hybridizing.  Theres much to be said about being able to 1shot lol stab people :P

I personally go 33/3 with 11 pt and 11 ps so that those guys who try to run from me can just eat axes in the back.  Helps solve the no mobility problem.

lol that sounds fun and all but not having any agility makes it a little hard to actually fight people. I'm looking for more of a practical build so i can stand a chance in a 1v1 fight. Although 1 shotting someone with a stab would be pretty funny.

Going above 30 in Strength may no longer be advisable, as the effect of Skills is capped at 10 (with the exception of Weapon Master).

There is no point to take 18 agility if you only go for 5 WM. Extra agility doesn't offer any speed bonus, so for your build better go with 24/15 8PS 5IF 5ATH 5WM.

And you are gonna want 6 ath, because extra footwork really makes difference.

Take from ironflesh and put more in ATH/WM.

lol wish I knew that.  No wonder I didn't notice a big diff from 10-11.
Anyhow 30/6 or 30/9 would be a nice build.  I can't wait till next retirement to go 30/6.  The extra wpf and ath is gonna help so much.

So then revised build

    Strength: 21
    Agility: 18
    Hit points: 64

    Converted: 8
    Ironflesh: 4
    Power Strike: 7
    Shield: 0
    Athletics: 6
    Riding: 0
    Horse Archery: 0
    Power Draw: 0
    Power Throw: 0
    Weapon Master: 6

    One Handed: 1
    Two Handed: 156
    Polearm: 1
    Archery: 1
    Crossbow: 1
    Throwing: 1

I took points out of IF and put them in ATH and WM, but in order to get them to 6 i had to change to 21/18.

18 athletics?

I have played 2her for like 7 generations now (swapping to thrower, cav and archer to find out their weakpoints), and i have tried like 5 different builds. Let me introduce you to some :)

24-15, this is quite good for hammering shielders, a little slower, but good for battles when you have some friendly troop support

18-21, this is more for the dance in, hit, dance out style of fight, once you manage your range, its a killer, so far i had best results with this, as you are quite good maneuverable and deal decent dmg

And now a lil hybrid to annoy the crowd:
18/18 + throwing

If you wanna have some option against very fast runners or for the first few seconds of every good massacre, go with the throwing off, it really can help a lot. Anyways, all the three builds are quite well playable and enjoyable (sporting german greatsword as well). Hope this helps
