Bow. Arrows maybe once first, as you get 2 more ammo by looming once.

Dont forget to buy +1 stuff for about 300k first (loompoints are worth more after all).

Save your first loompoint, wait until you get another, and then trade two loompoints for a +3 item. Add a bit of gold if you want a less common +3 item.

Sell loompoint and buy bow in market...

Bow before arrows. Arrows get such a small bonus from looming. and the +1 bonus is the best of it. More arrows per stack.
I would not go archer from the start if you are new.
Play melee or crossbower.  Going archer from gen1 is very frustrating.
Get your  gear while playing some other class., you can always  trade MW gloves or armor for archerygear later on.

Use regular arrows while you are new.. bodkins will make you poor..

Technicaly, when you loom arrows, you receive damage for free. When you loom bow, you receive damage but loose accuracy.

Use what you want, m8.  Follow your heart.  You learn to swim by jumping in the water.  Glove heirlooms are worth a ton, but they aren't any fun, haha

Also, listen to the guys that suggest saving or selling points though.  Its easy and satisfying to loom your own stuff, but points really are valuable - you'll come out on top by 100-300k in the end.  Can't always find what you want, but there's a lot of bows in circulation too.

You can check it yourself. Try MW Longbow at first then nonloomed Longbow.

longbow suck

It doesn't matter what bow you choose for test. You can use even your lovely short bow, if you want.

Longbow is a good bow. If you like it, use it (like i'm doing all the time).
Rus is the best bow atm, but the most important is not a bow, but your skill.
IMO longbow is the most stylish bow (it looks great with hireloom pack).
