Title: Cancelling attacks kills troops?
Post by: StormFaction on October 17, 2012, 01:49:51 am
I was attacking a fief last night and had to cancel to tie up some loose ends, as soon as I cancelled though my troop count dropped from 300 to nil, yet in the battle summary it says all 300 survived.  Is this some kind of glitch or an actual mechanic?

Did you QMR at battle, or cancel on website?

cancelled on website, only like 30 min after attacking.  I also can't re-attack, and it's been over 24 hrs :/

I don't know then. You used to be able to cancel on website and only suffer like 1/4 losses.

Earlier near the beginning of Strat, I attacked an army with the default 100 troops (to delay the evildoer).  I was then told to cancel (so I cancelled on website) and I lost all my troops as well.

Wasn't too bad since you regain 2 troops per tick instead of 1 when you're hiring the first 100.

You should have asked me on steam before doing anything lol... Who told you to cancel on the website?

If we're gonna be allies in the desert and looking after eachother, ya gotta let me know whats up!

Also, this strategus round, any time you retreat it is now considered a "surrender" and all your troops apparently are put to the sword or desert.

that explains it, wish I had known.
No matter, at least it wasn't a spectacularly large army.

although that still doesn't explain why i can't attack again, is the cooldown over 24 hours?

you need 1/3rd of the fiefs population to be able too attack it, same as attacking someone in the field.

That could be it, I thought there was just a cool down timer

I commited the same mistake as you and lost about 180 troops, and I have never heard of loosing all your troops from canceling an attack before that. Improve FAQ someone :o?

You shouldn't lose 100% of your troops when you cancel a battle, that's even worse than losing 100% of your troops when you retreat in a siege as the attacking army (especially when attacking a castle or city).
