Post by: LordRichrich on October 15, 2012, 06:27:51 pm
What's the best stone thrower build, in terms of best damage and accuracy? Thanks

4 packs of stones and a courser. That speed damage bonus is OP.
24/18 8PT, 6Riding, 3WM, 130Throwing.
If your horse goes down, you go down.

(Now that I've thought this up, I think I'm going to STF and try this)

Even 39/3 is pretty accurate with stones and you can do nice damage to medium armor users (body shots) and very good damage on headshots.

Thank you :)

EDIT: How important is WPF for stones?

For ranged you don't get speed bonus from your own movement speed, only your target's speed towards you.

Ah, I thought I had heard that somewhere.

But on that note, throw rocks, aim for cavalry.

its a waste of time. you're better off using throwing daggers as those are super accurate(most accurate throwing weapon) and hit like a truck.

To answer your question op :

Pure thrower build :

21/18

4 PS
7 PT
6 ATH
6 WM

1H : 50
Throwing: 150

You are accurate (up to medium range with jarid) and you hit like a bazooka but you are weak as a melee (but far from useless).

more balanced build :

18/18

5 IF (you can choose shield instead)
6 PS
6 PT
6 ATH
6 WM

1h/2h/polearm: 75-120
throwing: 120-144

You get more HP more melee power but less throwing damage and accuracy.

Use Jarid, Heavy throwing axe or Throwing Spear to be effective. Axe against low armored people and horses, jarid/spears for high armored target and better accuracy.

Remember when you choose your weapon : each ranged damage reduce by 1 the accuracy. This is why Jarids are far more accurate than Axes.
